I have a remote domain controller that has been in place for around 2 1/2 years that suddently a little after midnight this morning started coming up with this error. It is installed with a volume license media, with the same product key as around 60 other servers on the same network. I don't want to jump in doing stuff as the server is a fair distance to get to if I do something to trully stuff it up. Not excluding the fact that there is around 500 GB of user data to restore if it goes wrong. Does anyone know what causes this kind of issue? My main problems with this version are: I can only add transitions in Storyboard view (in timeline view wmm closes) I cannot expand the Video Track to mute audio (again the programme closes) I cannot save as an AVI file (again programme closes down) I can only save best fit for my computer I cannot publish directly to DVD (DVD maker will also not work with AVI files - it closes down!) Does anyone have any suggestions? If so, I'd be grateful - I'm finding it frustrating that I cannot pr…

  18. When I first read the headline, I was shocked. I thought, "Wow! Skype runs on Windows servers???" But no. Skype blamed its outage over the weekend on a different kind of Windows problem. It turns out that when you have millions of Windows machines restarting at the same time (getting their weekly doses of patches because, um, the system is rock solid), it can cause all sorts of problems for others. Like Skype: ... Link To Original Article

  22. It's very hard to earn billions of revenue and profit each year. Painful, even! Or so the San Jose Mercury News would have us think about Google. It's hard to be successful! I assume that Google would rather be in this position than in the alternative position: no one cares about your product/service enough to sue you, reverse engineer you or bother in any way with you. Google, being successful, has the opposite problem: ... Link To Original Article

I hate the fact that Explorer is set up so that after Sunday, all the site visit history of the previous days get lumped into 'last week' visit history, which is absolutely useless! Is there any way to keep it from doing this (it didn't used to be the case - at least not in IE6) so that it always shows individual days? I have it set to only hold the past 5 days of history. Thanks!
