by Guest Mike Keighley- 0 replies

Windows 2003 Server Help makes more than one reference to the "System Performance and Troubleshooting Guide", e.g. in "Analysing performance data" and in "Performance monitoring resources" we see: "For a more detailed discussion of performance data and its analysis, and on troubleshooting your computer using performance-monitoring tools, see "Part One: Operating System Performance" in the System Performance and Troubleshooting Guide, available at the Microsoft Windows Resource Kits Web site. " I am unable to locate this Guide anywhere on microsoft.com however, never mind "the Microsoft Windows Resource Kits Web site", which link simply jumps to the top level…

Need help with CAPICOM Security APIs
by Guest Ken Varn- 0 replies

Not sure if this is the right newsgroup for this question. I have a simple task that I need to perform. I want to be able to pragmatically verify that an EXE file contains my signed certificate. I was looking at the CAPICOM classes and it appears that there are class APIs that I can use. However, I am not sure exactly what I need to do. I created a SignedCodeClass and set the SignCode.Filename member equal to the EXE file that I want to check. Then, SignCode.Verify function is called to verify the validity of the certificate. However, I want to go one step further and verify that the certificate is my certificate. Could someone please offer some …

There is an ugly feeling growing against Microsoft in its attempts to have a few of its shared-source licenses certified as OSI (Open Source Initiative)-approved. The general sentiment is that OSI approval is for everyone except Microsoft. I compete with Microsoft. My livelihood depends on beating Microsoft. But I don't believe in discrimination. Not even of the…

Cant Apply Proxy GPO
by Guest JT- 0 replies

Hi All, Having a real bugger of a time applying a proxy GPO setting either to user or computer. Publishing the GPO from a windows 2003 native domain to xp sp2 clients with ie6. The policy is applied as it should be but the computers are not picking up the proxy configuration and applying it to IE6. All other policies work fine. There is no policy in place that can/will effect proxy settings. I have seen these problems posted by others but have not found a solution. Thanks
