Sometimes my Windows Vista (home premium) computer suddenly gives me the blue screen and tells me that it is "dumping physical memory" (as well as to run diagnostics). Then, it neither goes back to the normal mode nor restarts. So I am forced to manually shut down the computer (by pushing the power button for five seconds). Of course, I cannot run the diagnostics that the blue screen has described because I cannot get the computer back to normal (non-bluescreen) mode. But when I manually restart the computer, it does one of the following two things. Either A) it freezes, thus forcing me to manually restart, or B) it starts working fine and then gives me…

I thought I would send this post, as I had to dig to find this in the posts... Open <Control Panel>, <Ease of Access Center>. Then under where it says "Explore all settings" click on <Use the computer without a display> and that's where you will find the checkbox for "Turn on Narrator". Clearly make sure that box is un-checked. That thing was driving me crazy. I can see why Microsoft put this in the "blindness" area, but it is not particularly intuitive to find the Narrator setting.

When I logged into my Vista administrator account this morning all settings (desktop, favorites, documents, etc) are back to the defaults when I first installed Vista. The files that normally are used are still on the hard drive. My account is still passworded and the password has not changed. Any ideas on why the desktop and other settings are not being read correctly and how to reset this to work properly? I have not changed any of the settings and am the only non-restricted account on the computer. TIA

I am having some difficulty understanding and configuring CA's for monitoring ofdomains outside the trust realm. I have loaded Microsoft's Certificate Services, and in reading the instructions have tried going to http://<computername>/certserv but page cannont be found. I am not opposed to using Verisign or Thwate, but not sure what I need. I am running Windows Server 2003 R2x64 Standard.

Possible your software is damaging, then try 'recover DBX file' (http://www.oemailrecovery.com/restore-outlook-express.html), recover for example, in case of a serious computer failure the Inbox folder became unreadable, and you see that the message list is empty, restore Microsoft Outlook (not Oulook Express) messages, contacts, notes, journals and so. -- zlatan24 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ zlatan24's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=23569 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=447352 http://forums.techarena.in

I want to lean out the network settings in our two XP pro computers and start over. Both machines (#1 & #2 ) are connected to a DI-DO4 which is fed by the WESTELL DSL router. The Internet connections are fine for both machines. And both are on the 'network', but neither was intentionally designated as a server. It's supposed to be peer to peer. The printer is an HP930c (USB) connected to #2. I have pdf Factorypro and Fineprint installed on #1. We've gone through some hardware changes, and I have not attempted to use the printer for quite a while, until yesterday. When I attempted to print using Word, the HP 930 is not among the choices. I tried to configu…
