HI all, I need to lock down a windows 2003 Enterprise Media services server, the user has paid accounts and requires only 1 username and password can access the server at any one time, I have been playing with this for ages now and cant seem to get only 1 at a time set. It works great if you want to allow more than 1 connection out of the box, sadly this is not what the client wants though ~:( (pesky clients ;) ) I had thought about doing this through TCPIP addressing but the problem is most of the clients are on dyamic ip rather than static. I have windows 2003 ent edition server, server act as domain controller and Dns also, our LAN ip range is 90.0.0.1 t0 90.0.3.254 DNS forward lookup zone contain all host entry but reverse lookup zone have only 90.0.0.1 series how I can add another lan series ex 90.0.1.1 and 90.0.2.1 Pls advise me Regards, Syed Bilal

I am not using WSUS or SUS on any of these servers, Ive tried deleting the softwaredistribution folder but didt help anyone have seen this ? suggestions most appreciated. Everytime i try to log onto hotmail it wont go into my inbox. There is this lock that says microsoft corporation USA, it says versign has identifed this site and that this connection to the server is encrypted. Hello I'm trying to disable file replication for a Dfs link (Dfs domain based). I selected to stop the replication using the Dfs console, and that worked. When I use the ntfrsutl command tool I can verify that the various servers have status stopped for that replica set. However now i want to disable and remove replication for tis replica set. But I don't get any option to disable replication in the Dfs console.....what do i do? How can I remove the servers from the replica set and get rid of the replication? And what is the purpose of the "Replica Set Tombstoned" registry setting. After stopping the replication I assume this changed from 0 to 1. Does this…

When I go to Control Panel and select Performance Information and Tools, it opens a new page which is blank except for "page failed to load." I tried both of Ramesh's fixes for this and neither one helped. This has always been this way since I bought my new computer in February of this year, and it did not change after a Vista Upgrade Reinstall. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Windows XP seemed to do a better job of resizing emails for email - with Vista I can see jpeg compression artifacts, with XP I couldn't. Is there a way to bump up the quality of the compression for Vista? Rob

When i'm opening files in my desktop folder from within an application such as front page or photo shop, only the folders with the green icons show up. New folders i create which appear in yellow just don't seem to be there. They do show up in windows explorer though. I am logged in as system administrator also. This problem just recently started to happen so i'm not sure what changes occurred. Thanks in advance for your help.

I use SSH to connect to a remote resource just fine. I know in linux there is a way you can mount that resource (over ssh/scp/sftp) so that it looks like a local directory. Is there some way in Vista I can do something similar? The server doesn't have Samba (or something similar) installed so I can't map a drive that way. SSH clients (PuTTY, cygwin) are fine but life would be so much simpler for me if I was able to share/map that resource and get Vista to see it as just another, well, shared drive. Is something like this even possible? If so, how? Could you point me to somewhere on the web that would give me pointers? thnx, Christoph

Does anyone know of a good replacement for Sticky Password? I switched from Norton Password Manager 2004 to Sticky Password becuase NPW got killed, I needed something for Vista and Norton Confidential was too bloated... Sticky Password was great and the support was great too. But now that I am acutally running Vista, Sticky Password is not working so well. It crashes IE all day long to the point where it is unusable. And the support has dissappeared... They will not answer e-mails etc... So if anyone out there knows of a good replacement for Sticky Password please let me know...

When I change one of the folders to View>Toolbars>Standard Buttons Unchecked, the other folder gets changed the same way. How do I prevent this action?
