The Mike Glenn Syndrome is a term used when a person has certain limitations in mental functioning and in skills such as communicating, taking care of him or herself, and social skills. These limitations will cause a poster to learn and develop more slowly than a typical poster. Brain dead morons with Mike Glenn Syndrome may take longer to learn to speak, walk, and take care of their personal needs such as dressing or eating. They are likely to have trouble learning in school, and posting to Microsoft newsgroups. They will learn, but it will take them longer. There may be some things they cannot learn. They keep trying. Make sure to continue your Meds.

I am using WriteFile to write directly to LPT1, where I have an Epson POS printer. This works fine unless I have a printer (anything, 'Generic / Text only', the printer itself) setup to use LPT1 in windows. Somehow having LPT1 in use in windows is preventing my data from sending correctly. I have enabled the option 'Use any interrupt' on my LPT1, and that works only until I reboot the machine. Has anyone ever encountered this before?

Hi, I have configured object access auditing on a SBS 2003 Server. I have followed MS articles, making sure everything is properly configured. 1- Activate the policy and link it to the domain controller 2- Go to the folder in question and selecting a security group (containing only employee, no system accounts) and setting audit on read, write, etc. The folder is on the D:\ drive. The auditing seems to work, actually it's doing to much, user access to that directory are being logged but also Administrator and SYSTEM account access also to files (mmc.exe and store.exe for instance) that are located on the C:\ drive? The customer wants to easily checked wh…

I have two DVD burners in my PC. In "My Computer" both show up as "Compac Disc." Is there a way to change this labeling? For example, I'd like to change these names to "Sony DVD" and "Lite-On DVD."

Whenever I resume my computer from standby mode (whether by pressing mouse, keyboard, or power button), Windows (XP Pro, SP2) goes into shutdown instead of resuming normally. I'm always entering standby mode manually. Is it possible that I simply messed something in Windows or BIOS settings, or will I have to reinstall Windows? My board is Gigabyte 965P-DS3. Thanks, Z.

I have just upgraded to Vista Business from XP professional. I ran Internet Explorer 7 on XP so the home page stuck. However, I created a user account since Microsoft recommends that one not use the admin account all the time but now IE7 does not retain my home page. I have added it every way I know how but every time I launch IE again or hit the Home page button it returns to MSN. Please help

Hello, Windows Vista hibernation facilities stopped to work - the POWERCFG -H ON command does not restore the hibernation facilities, too. The system logs off (switch off the display, too) but then returns to the login screen directly. Turning off the login after suspend option causes the system to return to the desktop directly, too. System event logs don't show any error messages either. Please advice on other ways to restore the Vista hibernate function. Thanks for your help, Hans

If I grab a corner and resize it even slightly itunes looks fine. not a major problem, but annoying. Anyone else have the same problem, or better yet a fix? Not looking to blame Dell, nvida, apple or MS, just looking to fix, thanks

We have new 64-bit server and SQL Server 2005 where we moved databases and applications from a 32-bit server and SQL Server 2000. Since we have moved the databases and application to the new server the server crashes and reboots at an irregular interval. This reboot seems to always be proceeded by the memory working set for SQL Server being paged out and available memory going up by a large amount. This usually occurs hours before the server crashes. The available memory stays high until the server crashes. OS: Server 2003 Standard edition x64 Edition Version 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2 Build 3790 Hardware: HP ProLiant DL380 G5 with two Dual core cpu's 3000 M…
