Hello, We have license copy Windows XP professional with Service pack 2. When I installed broadband on this computer , I get following error after connecting to Internet. Error “ Generic Host process for WIN32 services†. The Internet connection is lost , when Windows displayed above mentioned error. I have tried on three to four systems and we found same problems on other systems also. Pl anybody face this problem on Windows XP, Pl send me solution. Thanks in advance Rajendra

My vista laptop is used by myself and one other user. I'd like to change the default web browser programmatically for each user at logon. I prefer IE and the other user prefers SlimBrowser. Is there a way to change this, as part of a logon script(?), as a user logs on to the machine. Setting the default browser manually sets it for every user. Any help would be great.

Was there ever an answer for this? My laptop started doing this recently. IE6 does not show up in install/uninstall programs so I cannot select repair. I tried "sfc /scannow" but this didnot resolve. I changed registry to IE not nstalled per another post and tried to reinstall but always recieve message that newer version is installed. HELP PLEASE! Is it possible to add channels manually to Media Center when viewing Live TV? For some reason the automatic channel setup can access all the channels but will not list them all. So, for instance, when I get to channel 62 a channel up button will get me to channel 98. I can type in the live channels in between and access them that way, but I am puzzled by the failure of the automatic process to list all the channels. This also affects the Guide which also skips the channels between 62 and 98. I am running XP SP2 and Media Center is 2005 with Roll Up 2. My application that uses XML data islands is no longer working as of Aug 16 2007 when window update KB936021 installed. This update is for a Vulnerability in Microsoft XML Core Services. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms07-042.mspx Basically the XML data island is not populating with any data from an XML file that is coming from the same server that served the aspx page that contains the <XML> tag. If I remove this windows update the XML Data island works again. Is there a IE setting that needs to be changed to allow XML Data islands to work again? I need to restore a complete HD baskup. Fortunately, it is not the system disk, and I have a recent backup done with Vista. I want to restore the situation I had before the last complete backup. I have tried to do it, but the system restore files ans folders that I deleted time ago. I want the files and folders I had when I did the last backup.

I have vista loaded on my laptop and I cannot open WMC. Everytime I open the application, it automatically closes and asks me if I want to notify Microsoft. This is something that has never worked since owning the laptop. It is an OEM version of Vista and the manufacture does not include a Vista disk... How do i reinstall WMC without having to recover my entire computer? I'm not sure if it is related, but I also cannot play .wma files in media player. I'd like to resolve this in the least intrusive manner. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Att : Mark and Ian ----- As promised on the 8/26 post (4:11PM), I said that I would provide the definitive answer, as to, whether 64-Bit media is boxed with the Ultimate Upgrade. Jupiter Jones was absolutely correct when he said that BOTH DVDs ( 32&64-Bit ) are included in the box. Our company recently upgraded to actinic v8 e-commerce software. I installed the software on our server (logged in as admin), then created a login for my ts connection. It worked fine for about 1 week, but now fails each time I try and load it. It displays the actinic splash page, then drops the ts client with no error message. Its as if the actinic software is already running on the server, but its not. I can access no problem, using vnc, and fine if I log on directly to the server, but not TS. We ran earlier actinic software in the same way, and its fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my home system running Vista Home Premium 32 bit I have been getting this error randomly popping up on my screen saying that "Windows modules installer" has stopped working. Also ever since this started happening I have not been able to receive any windows updates or uninstall windows updates from the system. My computer also freezes randomly for up to 20 seconds. I recently just bought a brand new 500gb HD and put the fresh copy of windows on the HD so i have hardly anything loaded on it other than World of warcraft, ive run scandisks, defrag, the usual tools.
