  10. Remember how I said that Moore's Law is "the full-employment act for computer pundits"? Hello, I have this very strange problem. I recently re-installed Windows XP Pro and I was attempting to re-install the analog modem. I received a "blue screen" stating that there was an error " IRQ > or less than" and the next message stated that "AFD.sys was attempting to write to a ROM location" and I must reboot in the safe mode. I determined the culprit was the modem card driver (possibly a install over a previous install. I corrected that error and the system booted correctly with all the bells less one whistle: I received an error message whenever I tried to send a FAX, "TAPI error of unknown cause" or words to that effect. I replaced the modem card with …

I had XP and Vista in a dual boot config on 2 separate drives. I cloned my XP drive (needed a larger drive), removed the old drive, put in the new drive and had troubles so I obviously mucked up the bootloader and now only can boot to XP. I've tried EasyBCD and VistaBootPro with no luck. Exactly what do I have to do and where do I do it to add the info to allow me a choice to boot into Vista as well as XP? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I'm trying to enable BitLock on a Compaq 6515b notebook which has built-in TMP 1.2. There are 2 partitions on it, one is 2GB and another is 30GB (both of them are primary partitions). The Vista Ultimate 64bit is installed on the 30GB partition. All drivers including TPM drivers are installed correctly and the notebook works quite well. But when I try to turn on BitLock in Control Panel, there is always no volume available for BitLock. Is there anything wrong with my settings? Thanks a lot. -- Regards, R. Yang - Windows Kernel Developer [Custom Dev and Consulting]
