Hi, There is a KB Article ID: 196452 that says Event 6009 is logged during every boot and indicates the operating system version, build number, service pack level, and other pertinent information about the system. Depending on your current configuration, it gives a message similar to: "Microsoft ® Windows NT 4.0 1381 Service Pack 6 Multiprocessor free". However, There were instances that Event 6009 is not logged even the machine is rebooted. What could be the possible reasons this event is not recorded to determine that the machine is rebooted? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My problem is that the Scanner and Camera Wizard no longer works as it once did. If a SD memory with picture files in it is inserted to a USB adapter then a dialogue is popped up. I click on "Copy pictures to a folder on my computer using Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard" and OK. Then the Wizard is launched. Then NEXT, select pictures to save, NEXT. At this point The Wizard shows two field, 1. Type a name for this group of pictures and 2. Choose a place to save this group of picture. The problem happens from here on: It once was that if I enter the first field then the same name sub-folder is automatically created and is shown in the second field. The pr…

Hi, there, I have two 30G HDDs and a 320G HDD , and two of them have xp installed. Yesterday, I start my computer with my 320G HDD and one 30G HDD first, that was ok. But after I replace 320G HDD with my another 30G HDD, I got a problem. One of two disk partition got larger capacity from about 10G to 100G, and all folders and files in that partition are named very abnormally. Please help me to restore that HDD. THX!

The other day, I noticed that Diskmon has stopped functioning. When one looks in the Diskmon window, one sees nothing even after the computer case light lights-up. You suggestions are appreciated.

Before I publish my webs, I always do a search to find all .web file extensions and delete the web caches. Lately, when I do this search Windows doesn't find any files with the *.web command. However, if I start with Documents and Settings and walk through the whole path, there they are. My criteria this morning was *.web Look in: Local Disk (C:) All Files and folders Search subfolders (I do not have any hidden folders set this morning) What setting is missing in my searches that prevents the search to be complete? I was trying to troubleshoot a DVD Drive and somehow I now have the Diagnostic Traces screen show up when I log on. It has DrvmCDB at the top of it. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it? Thanks. -- Mary Kay

I ran SFC /scannow after a suggestion to help with another problem and now in many of my system headers and bodies i have a SLOVAK or other eastern European language. For example all of my wireless headers and text are in this language and many more. I have a legal English installation of XP home with all update on a Dell Inspiron 6000. I have a clean machine no virus no mal ware etc. I need help in the registry I think.. PLEASE I cannot read this language.

Hi, I am not able to use RDC to connect to my computer, this is happening on 2 of my machines when i do a RDC(remote desktop) to my computer from another machine, following happens 1. RDC connection is established 2. Screen for Entering Username and password is displayed 3. it correcltly gives error if i type wrong password 4. Inserting a blank CD will give you the option of starting Nero (7 Prem reloaded), but a blank DVD will not. Available autostart options do not list Nero. Is there any way to add to the autostart options? I guess the problem is Nero's in the way the SW is registered, but I'm looking for a work-around. Thanks, Chris
