We have more than one wireless access point (WP) in our network. Initially, I set up Vista to use any of them, but after realizing that we had no control over which one it uses on boot-up, I "removed" all but one of the WPs from Vista's list of network connections. At least, I thought I did. For some reason Vista reconnects to a "removed" WP whenever it reboots. * If I disconnect from "removed" WPs, Vista will not re-connect to it. * On boot-up, it reconnects to the "removed" WP. * When an "automatic update" is performed, Vista reconnects to the "removed" WP. I haven't seen anything like this since Windows ME, which I tolerated for a whole week before s…

Firefox just passed the 400 million download mark, according to the Spread Firefox site for promoting the open-source, extendable Web browser. Investor's Business Daily - Game makers are looking toward the simplicity of Pac-Man to gobble up big bucks. And now with the success of the Nintendo Wii, which can run many simple games, the casual game market is being taken more seriously. Casual games -- those that don't rely on top-of-the-line graphics and intense game-play to master -- have typically targeted middle-aged females. The perk for game makers is that simple games take less time and money to make, so far less is lost if the game flops. They're also easy to get to people via downloads. Link To Original Article

Hi everyone.. i really need help with my computer, because i can't really use it right now.. every time i try to log in, i get this error message : Explorer.EXE - Application Error. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000033). Click on OK to terminate the application. And then, when i clicked on OK, nothing happened. Windows doesn't load anything anymore. So, there is no taskbar, no desktop icons, nothing. I basicly cannot use my computer. The only thing that works is Ctrl+Alt+Del combination keys, which let me shut down the computer again. Can anyone help me with this? i would really appreciate for your help.. thx before.. -abi-

Hi, I tried to FTP html files from my web server and the filenames all downloaded but all of the file sizes are 0 bytes. I have another computer with the files, but I wanted to update the web site from this machine and so I wanted to download the files to this machine to edit and then load them back up. I tried just copying one file at a time and the FTP client (free coffee cup FTP) says the file transferred correctly but of course 0 bytes is not acceptable. Maybe a vista permissions issue. With XP the files always transferred ok. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Floyd

Hey, I'm a Vista user and I have two dial up lines (lets name both of them line A and line B). Whenever I dial using line A, I will always get error message 678. ALWAYS. But, whenever I dial using line B, I will always be able to establish a connection. This problem has been bugging me for two months, but I can't seem to resolve it. Before this, I never had any problems dialling up using line A. And also, using dial up connections with line A is cheaper, so I'm now spending more money while I'm online. Please help. Thanks. Since replacing 2KPro with XP Pro, r-clicking on my G:/ drive ( either the shortcut icon on my ZDesktop or in Windows explorer) reboots the computer! Further, when I try to delete the shortcut to the drive from my Desktop, the same thing happens--the computer reboots. This is the only drive which developed this problem. The G:/ drive is a Zio card reader/writer. R-clicking on it used to give me the Safe-eject option when I had 2KPro. Now it gives no menu but rather reboots. When I then changed the G:/ drive to one of my external hard drives to test, it gave the same problem. Now the G:/ drive is back to the card reader. I have a Safely Remove Hardware ico…
