Hi, I have a trouble with Win XP Home (SP2) :-) If I use Task Sheduler Service, my pc crash with error 0x000000F4 between 15-20 minutes with no activity. I suspect at this time my pc run into Idle time and process a task... and this task crash my session. I search what is the name of process (or task, or .exe or .dll). If I not enable Task Sheduler Service, I have no problem. Or if I work with my pc, I have no problem. My problem appear only if I not use my pc. My Disply Properties "Screen saver" is [none], "Background" is Bliss.

In setting up my mouse pointer, I selected the Snap To function, which sends the pointer to a "default" position like OK, for example. However, the mouse pointer is not going to these default positions, but rather goes to some other highlighted area in the window. Any ideas what's going on? How do we fix this? Mike

It is documented the DWORD entry "UseMicrosoftProvider=1" at the hive HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\ will force Windows 2003 SP1's NTBackup to use the built-in Microsoft VSS Software provider, a useful exclusion test to see if third-party VSS Software provider is at fault 1. Does this also apply for XP SP2 platform? 2. Is the default "UseMicrosoftProvider=0" when there is no presence of this value, then a third-party VSS Software provider is used if present? 3. If there're more than one third-party VSS Software providers, how to select a specific non-Microsoft third-party VSS Software provider to be the default? 4. Can VSSTRACE…

If Windows Vista 64-bit can use more than 8GB of memory, where can you get the motherboard that has more than 4 bays to install the memory chips? All the motherboards I have found have only 4 bays. Even if the specs. says you can install 8GB of memory, the memory chips comes in 1GB chips and the motherboard has 4 bays. Thank you; David

We have a computer were files were in an offline mode. When we went to reinstall our domain controller we didn't know some files were not syncronizing to the server. We took the computer off the old domain and switched it to the new domain. We can no longer access the offline files even though we have access to the entire CSC folder. I can not seem to find anything online that states if we can copy the existing CSC folder on another computer and extract the data. When we attempted this in the past it made the system almost unmanagable by freezing the computer. I am looking for a solution to be able to access this CSC file. I know I can use CSCCMD to extract the f…

I have XP and Vista on 2 separate hard drives. Seems I may have a sneaky virus and I don't trust that the scans got everything so I want to reinstall XP. Since it's best to have XP installed before installing Vista, can I reformat and reinstall XP on the separate drive and will Vista even realize it? Meaning, will Vista's bootloader be changed or will it just see the XP boot info and not even know it was reinstalled? Thanks

I have a strange issue that I need help with – here are the details: I recently moved a small business office off of Small Business Server 2000 which was running as a DC, DNS Server, DHCP, and IS 2000. This office has 10 users, so I went the fully manual way. I took a new Windows 2003 R2 server, built a new DC, and added DNS and DHCP services to it. I changed the Domain name when I did it as well, because the person who created the initial SBS 2000 domain named it the same as their registered domain name (which caused issues with the externally hosted web site, etc). The SBS 2000 domain name was special-tees.com, and I built the new domain as home.special-tees…
