I know this has nothing to do with Windoze, but I really don't know where to post this. There are two places I frequent that sure could use translate software. One is IJJI.com which is a free online chess game site, and WinMx which is a P2P program. Both have chat features and both attract people from around the world. I can only imagine that as the Internet grows so will the need for a translate one the fly program. I was thinking that Yahoo Messenger or MSN would be a hit for something like this. Thoughts?

Here is my setup. Netgear vpn router at home. Using vpn client software on Windows xp sp2 to access and establish the vpn router. Connection is successful and I can ping all the machines on the other side of the router. I can access share on windows xp machines, windows 2000 server machine but I cannot access shares on any vista machines. Connection attempt times out. The shares are there and can be accessed locally. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello i buy notebook with vista, and return to windows XP, the true is many many softwre and hardware are not compatible with vista. If i buyed legal software and hardware why i have buy newly software ??? it is an abuse and irespect by MicroSoft, only for get more money with bad desing and lies about that i have upgrade to vista for the new software and games run well, simply money. CIAO

When you are done with that sledgehammer, please lend it to me. I also have what should be a simple problem with CDs where Explorer can only read the drive after a reboot. I got some good suggestions from the experts here, but nothing has worked. I guess I can learn to live with it, but, like you it is driving my crazy. I followed a couple of links today and wound up at Nero/Ahead web site to download a newer version of InCd and found this answer from their FACs. after getting a "library corrupted" error window i can no longer get media info while trying to rip an album cd(even after using "find album info"), and after ripping cd without media info i can not find it in the "media library" but under "documents" in the "music" files. also all my old playlists (not albums) in "media library" do not play or open anymore and can not add music to them either. but under "documents" in the "music" files those same old playlists for some reason there properties show them in mp3 format now when having them open in "windows media player". another thing if i create a new playlist it also ends up in the "music" files not in "me…

Hi - I have a new HP, which comes with a TV tuner. I do not have a decoder - I just plug the cable directly into the computer. I only get channel 5&6. The cable company was out here yesterday. It works fine on their TV. I did a bit of searching. Somewhere i found a trouble shooting guide for a cable convertor box. If you only get channel 5&6 it means you have to switch the STD/HRC switch on the cable box. Al good, except I dont have a box. Anyway to change this any other way? I should mention one of my TVs does this too, but I got around it by watchinthru a VCR. Thanks

Since i switched to broadband , shortly there after, i cannot save messages in windows mail sent folder, and the sent save box is checked. I can find the messages by typing in the search box subject of the email or i can send myself a bcc or cc and they come, just do not save in sent folder. Also in internet explorer/tools/connection my old isp is still showing under account, but i am not using that. I added a domain (sourceforge.net) to the list of trusted sites in my IntExp 6.x under WinXP. Since I defined this always a confirmation window pops up whenever I visit a sourceforge site. It asks me to allow opening the web page. Hey, if I trust this site I - of cause - allow the loading of web pages from that domain. So what should this mess ? How can I avoid this popup window? Hi, I'm trying to make a ghost of a PC which I will use as a standard on some other PC:s. Up to now the OS has been W2000 and I've been using the Sysprep tool for that. Now the OS will be XP Proffesional and what I've learned is that Sysprep for Xp differs from the one for W2000, threre are more (4?) choices for XP. Since I'm not specially good at this I'm wondering if anyone can tell me which choices I shall use to make Sysprep for XP "act" as the Sysprep for W2000. -- Many thanks in advance ! Clippan

For desktop folders I'd like to be able to hide the navigation pane. On the other hand, when using Windows Explorer, I'd like to have the navigation pane visible at all times. Is there any way of setting up both once and for all time? Alex Balfour

1. Emachines T5224 Vista Home premium installed on the machine when I bought it from store 2. Installed Toshiba USB external backup harddrive 3. The Toshiba backup software allowed me to make my backup files. 4. Then I deleted files under PROGRAM FILES. 5. Then I looked inside the Tosiba software, and the deleted files are still showing up as files I can save! But if I go to my computer's hard drive, I do not see the files there anymore. Hey After being on my comp i leave it on most nights or through the day for my downloads but for some reason when i come back to my comp its always logged out so my downloads havent got very far its getting on my nurves now so can somebody plz help me any idears?

my laptop running xppro with 2gig of memory and a way fast cpu runs very well and response in most all programs is instanteous. However when I am trying to save as or doing an insert file dialog it is oh sooo slow. For instance, save as always defaults to My Documents which comes up immediately. But when I hit the dropdown, to show the drives, it sometimes takes more than 30 seconds. Then when I double click on a directory, it might take another 30 seconds.
