Hi. I'm trying to sync my i-mate k-jam with a Exchange 2003 server. I'm the administrator of this server, but not the one that installed it (handed over without documentation) ActiveSync against this server has never worked, so I though I'd give it a go. This server is an Exchange 2003 server with SP2 installed and SSL enabled. The certificate is a RapidSSL certificate witch is installed on the i-mate (browsing OWA works without a hitch) Tried both with and without SSL enabled, but this is giving me various errormessages. The current one when syncing over GPRS is: 0x85030022 (The server you are connecting to is not an Exchange server ....) As sa…

Approximately 3 months ago I transferred several files from my desk top outlook Windows XP 2003 to my lap top outlook VISTA (i.e. outlook contacts outlook calendar) by conventional CD. Well, you are not going to believe this, but I have empty folders of outlook contacts and outlook calendar all over the place in "my documents". They appear out of nowhere at random and I simply cannot delete them no matter what I do. I'll press "delete" they'll disappear for a couple of seconds and then reappear exactly as they were. I have changed their names and their icons - and they just keep on reappearing. According to the security setting under "properties" attached t…

Hi I am new to understanding certificates and I have looked at a mass of information on the web, but I am still not clear as to what I need to progress. We have created a web application, which is to be accessed by our clients (about 10). We have purchased a server certificate from Verisign so the website is accessed over SSL. The clients need to login to the website using userid/password etc, however we would like a further security mechanism such as a client certificate. The idea would be to issue each client with a certificate on a CD which would be unique to that client, which they would then install. I have created a CA server which is seperate f…

I have searched the net and note various flavours to USBs not appearing in My Computer. I have tried a lot of the recommendations to see if my problem can be resolved, but alas no joy. I detail below what my problem is, what I have tried and hope someone can help to resolve my problem. If I POWER UP the PC with the USB device plugged in, then it is visible in My Computer and I can access it. Once the PC is powered up, and I plug in a USB device, it does not appear in My Computer. If I right click My computer, go into Manage followed by Disk Management then the USB device shows up with an allocated disk drive letter and Healthy. Whist here unplugging the…

Hello, i've set up an active directory based on windows server 2003. in this environment it is not possible that the UPN and the SAM-accountname is the same. So at logon the users habe to type in their full UPN (<first name>.<surname>@mydomain.com). Is it possible to tell the winlogon process to use a default upn- suffix at logon so the users have only to type in their name withouth suffix like it is with the SAM-accountname?? Greetz Stefan

My Windows Media Player 11 freezes up when I try to watch a video from a link and /or site. I just got this laptop last week, and the Media Player worked fine for this for a few days, and now everytime I try to watch a streaming video it doesn't download it and it freezes up right away. I can't even lay it down or close it. All I can see is that circle going around and around next to my mouse arrow. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I would uninstall this media player and re download it, but I don't see any option for this =/

http://bertk.mvps.org/html/eerrormsgsv.html#3 That link may help. Simply make sure, "\System Volume Information" is NOT read only. Also, if that does not help, try this method (originally for Windows Server 2003, but works with Vista as well): http://adsm.org/forum/showpost.php?p=24633&postcount=3 I did both, and am now able to create system restore points. P.S. Also make sure "Volume Shadow Copy" is not disabled in your services. -- vpoet ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vpoet's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=31475 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=39…
