Apologies in advance if this breaks protocol, I just want to make sure my attempts to help are not in vain. ^_^) Hello everyone. I struggled with this very issue for two months. After much searching of the Internet, I found my solution to the problem last night, and I decided that I should spread the word on how I fixed it. Solution: Go to Run... in the Start menu. Enter this command: sfc /scannow Your computer will scan system files and fix whatever is corrupted. I ran the scan, and although the window closed on me before I…

Our company recentely purchased a MSP software and we are trying to monitor Antivirus settings on the server. In order to monitor this, I am being told that the server needs to be running Windows Security Center. Is there a way to install this on a 2003 Standard Server?

This is very very annoying, I just got an UX380N with vista recently, I don’t know this is a Sony apps problem, vista problem or UX problem itself. I try to edit the power plan for either high performance or power saver, then I put the computer into sleep mode, after a while I wake up the computer and login, the power plan that I was selecting is totally mess up(for example High performance). It change the off screen time to 1min on both battery and AC power, and sleep to never, processor performance minimal to 0% and maximum to 50%, which this will drag down the performance of high performance plan. So I have to restore to default and change everything e…

I'm on a campaign to minimize my laptop. I have a few utilities, and a few batch files set up so that I can readily switch the state of a few services and adapters on my laptop, depending on what I need to do. For example, I regularly use VMware, but not all the time. So, my VMware services are set to manual, and my batch program does a few 'net start' commands to turn on the services I need to run VMware. A couple of the VMware resources (and I don't use that word in any sort of XP-esque sense), are the two network adapters that VMware requires. I have installed the Microsoft devcon utility so that I can turn on and off a network adapter from a command-lin…

Paint and the Paint color dialogue thing is basic to several graphic and website programs I use. I need to use the Define Custom Color part of it and set values for Red-Green-Blue. For some reason the boxes for this have 'shrunk' so they only take two digits. For example, if I select the Basic Red then the Custom Color top box shows 25 and about half of the last 5 so it knows it is 255. If I want to change this to 254 then I can't as just 2 numbers are accepted. Same issue on Green, Blue and the left Hue, Sat: Lum: boxes How do I get the size of these boxes back to take 3 digits. I am Win XP 2nd and fully updated. -- Thank You

Every time Windows Update attempts to install SP2 on my Server 2003 R2 SP1 machine, it fails claiming that it require 3 additional MB of disk space. The thing is, I have 40GB of free space on the C drive (the only drive in the system) at the time this error occurs. See the image below for the exact error dialog. How can I work around this? http://www.tactrix.com/images/W2k3_SP2_not_enough_disk_space.jpg

Running into a problem trying to copy files 150GB to 300GB from a Windows Storage Server 2003 SP2 to a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 . The file will begin to copy and then I will get a message saying that, "Cannot copy filename: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." If I try to copy the file again, it appears to stop at the same place each time. If I go to the other server and attempt to copy from the storage server, then I get a message that there is no drive space on the storage server, yet there is plenty of space available. If I reboot the Windows Server and attempt the copy from either direction, it will stil…

Yes, the copy of XP that you have is a pirate copy. I really would recommend reporting it to Microsoft and to law enforcement. "scaf" wrote: > I want to upgrade a family members pc from me to xp. Hi, I really like the features that DPM offer, have installed and setup DPM on server with limited drive space. Want to backup to disk, then archive to tape but DPM doesn't see my Quantum ATL Superloader L600 LTO tape library. SCSI can see the devices, the drivers are installed. Only thing DPM can see is the HP LTO tape drive inside the tape library. This will be a serious limitation to DPM is library support is limit to bleeding edge libraries. Anyone know of a way or site to get this working? Thanks in advance for the support! -- Jaxdevo
