Hi, I am using Windows Vista Business (32 bit version). I have 2 windows updates which repeatedly fail to install. They are: KB936782 Error details: Code 80070643 KB938194 Error details: Code 80071AA7 Both patchs will download and install, but when Windows restarts and the updates are configured they fail. I have tried running the installs individually from the 'View Update History' window but this makes no difference - also fails. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I have Live Messenger 8.1 running on my Home Premium Vista but when I try and sign in it just hangs there trying to sign in. When I first got my PC this worked but after not changing anything at all on my PC this happened. My firewall has been properly configured and ports forwarded, although this was for the old MSN it shouldn't matter as with the same firewall settings as I said Live Messenger originally worked just fine. Any help please as this is extremely frustrating.

Hello I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. I utilise the Logitech Media Keyboard Elite USB and I am experiencing the following issue: when typing text (just like this one :D ) or playing games etc, just using the keyboard, it freezes for a few seconds. During freeze the actual typing spams, so the problem can just look like thisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. This is disturbing when typing text and it can be really anoying when playing games. In order to make it easier for you to hopefully find a solution, my mainboard is a EVGA nForce 680i-SLI. I already flashed the latest BIOS-Update and the latest nForce-Driver is installed, too. I already…

by Guest Athanasian Creed- 0 replies

Greetings all, A friend of mine called me tonight saying he can't get Windows Vista Home Premium to start on his laptop. All he gets is a black screen with an error message - "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details." He didn't receive a Vista DVD so he can't run a startup repair or anything else - he can't even get into 'Safe Mode' I suggested he find someone with a Vista DVD and try a startup repair, or, worse comes to worse, take it back to the place where he bought it (still under warranty) Can any gurus out there help us get this guy back up and running again?? I did a google se…

RE: cracking local admin account
by Guest bradm- 0 replies

There are plenty of "bootable" CD's and floopies allowing a local user to reset the password. If the 'admin' password has been changed, then you know it has been messed with. Since the actual machine is not his property, the company should establish a policy prohibiting any means or method of gaining access by any means where they are not authorized. What you must first realize, is not only his disregard to authority, but how much danger he is putting your network in danger. Once a policy is in place, ensure everyone knows about them by signing a statement of awareness in order to gain computer privileges. It's one of the first thing we do with new …

Re: DISK DEFRAGMENTER

This was exactly the repair I was looking for. I had installed Diskeeper on a free trial basis, but couldn't afford to buy it when the trial ran out several weeks back so I uninstalled it. I decided I needed to defrag yesterday and discovered that my defrag shortcut was gone. I think Diskeeper is so aggressive that it tries to take the place of the Windows Defragger, and when I deleted it, it took the shortcut to the Windows Defragger with it. I've heard a lot of good things about Diskeeper, but I am not happy with what happened when I uninstalled it. Anyway, thanks for posting the way to reinstall the original shortcut to the Windows Defragger. …
