I usually suspend and resume my laptop instead of shutdown. Always, when I resume, I find a "host process terminated" message. This happens with all my Vista installations on laptops. Is there a resolution?

I'm trying to get rshsvc from the Windows 2000 resource kit to work on Win 2K3, but I'm running into problems. When I try to send a remote command from one host to another I get a "Access Denied" message. The instructions are a bit sparse, and I have tried with a hosts.equiv, and a rhosts file that I've tried in several folders with no success. Does anyone know where the files should be located? Can I use IP addresses in the files instead of domain names? Thanks Dan H Canton, MA

Hi there, I am new to setting up faxing and have been asked to setup a solution that involves receiving a fax in through a normal analogue line. I have setup fax console to receive the faxes from this line and that has been tested and working. We are operating on a domain and i need to be able to forward the incoming faxes to a shared public folder on the exchange server that holds its own email address. I can send the faxes to email addresses manually by right clicking the faxes in the fax console and sending them to an email address that way, but the problem is I need the solution to be fully automated, ie the fax comes into the fax console and automatic…

I'm getting this kind of error when trying to play Lord of the rings online TurbineLauncher.exe - Bad Image --------------------------- C:\Windows\system32\security.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. --------------------------- OK I'm not getting any help from the lord of the rings online support, so I thought about that I'll post it here. So what I need is some info on security.dll, whats it for, what programs use it etc... so I could isolate what is causing the error. I …

On a 2003 server running MS-SQL the internal clock changes the date 10 minutes past midnight. The time is running correct, but from 00:00:00 to 00:10:00 the date is "yesterday". The server is part of a NT4-domain, and the "Windows Time" service is running. On some of the other servers and PC's in the network we're running the K9nt time service, but not on this particular server. Other servers - independent of the K9nt service - is changing the date correct. Any suggestions ? Jorgen Beck-Bang IT Administrator

I am new to our Applications team at work and I have struck a strange issue on one of the servers holding the application I look after. The problem is...when I try to create a new SQL ODBC connection or try to configure a SQL ODBC connection, the whole box terminates itself. It just disappears. I have tried re-installing the windows service pack 1 which didn't resolve the issue. I have also tried re-installing the MDAC on this box which made no difference. I have a test version of the server running same OS and Service Pack and has the same applications installed onto it. This test box works fine. I have tried copying over the SQLSRV32.DLL file from the test ser…

I'm still trying to figure out the "setups" for locations of items in Vista. When I type a URL (Web address in the "Address Bar") it will auto delete the next day. I figured there might be a setting just for the length of time (or quantity of typed URL's) it will stay (or hold) in the address bar when you click the arrow rather than having to put it in your "favorites" and accessing the website from there or having to retype the URL again. I have my history files set for 22 days (I saw nothing else there), also I could not find it in the registry where the "Typed URL's" are located either. If someone could direct me to the location where I can adjust fo…
