Opera does the exact same thing as firefox, will not connect to server, then when i close it, vista reports it as crashing. the only thing that can connect to the internet is IE7. what can i do?

After I installed AIM, it started randomly crashing which led me to uninstall it. After that, it prompted me to restart, which I did. Then my Windows Vista would not boot after the little green progress bar, so I went into safe mode and used system recovery to restore my computer to 3 days ago. After I did that, even safe mode would not boot up. And here I am now, I can't boot from a CD since it's an upgrade disc, so what do I do? -- skatj

That's what veto overides are for. Every business Poppy bought for Daddy was run into the ground by Georgie. Everything eaten, worn, and including all medical care for the still very promiscuous twins was paid for by Poppy's oil. When screen displays "Press any key to boot from CD, press any key on your Keyboard. Wait until "Welcome to Setup screen" with 3 options are displayed. Don't Press R to use Recovery Console to repair but press ENTER as if to install Windows XP and then F8 when prompted to agree with the License. Next the CD will find that you already have a System in possibly C:\Windows Folder. It will give you the Opportunity to Repair . Press R this time and hopefully it will rep…

I have tried to restore my Vista files with a backup I had written to another computer. When I select the 'advanced restore' it asks me for the location of the backup file. I pick the other computer (on my network) and it asks me where I want to restore them to. I reply original location and it starts copying a couple of files and the displays the following error message: The restore did not complete successfully. The device is not ready. (0X80070015) It does not tell me what device is not ready and I have to cancel the restore. Anyone have an idea of what it is trying to complain about?

I have a domain and hosted site through godaddy. I have a link to my website under my network places. The link is to my root directory. Used to, if I browsed to a folder and clicked on a jpg file, IE would open up and display the jpg. In the address of IE would be the full path to the file. I could copy this and paste it into forums. Now, when i click a jpg on my website through my network places, I get windows fax and pic viewer and it says can't display preview. I can't remember changing anything. When I click on a jpg in a regular windows folder, the file opens up with windows fax in pic viewer and shows the picture. If I go to file properties and te…

Hi All, Trying to connect between XP Pro Service Pack 2 and Vista and getting this message: A Remote Assistance Could not be established. You may want to check for netwrok issues or determine of the invitation expired or was cancelled by the person who sent it. The invitation was send via the MS MSN (Windows Live Messenger). The person with the Vista opened port 3389. The Vista version is Ultimate 64 bits, we are able to make connection with other Vista computers outside the network, but nothing between an XP Pro SP2 to this Vista Ultimate 64. Port 3389 is opened, and Remote Assistant/Desktop exceptions are created in Windows Firewall and the fact…

Of course. Spoonfed White people who haven't made money in one biz in a lifetime and ran the US treasury to the ground had daddy to pay for med care of the twins. If Congress has a backbone they'll override the moron. Wait until a few months when the Bush puppies peel off Bush's rubberstamp because they have close elections. In versions of Windows prior to Vista, many file types gave me the option to "Confirm open after download" if I wanted to be asked whether I wanted to "Open" or "Save" a file. Now in Windows Vista, I find that this option is missing! What's the deal here, and is there any way to get that option back? Brandon Taylor

I have big job ahead of me and really need some help getting pointed in the right direction so here goes: I have a 2003 domain that covers my HQ office and 2 remote sites. I also have another site that has a 2000 domain. I need to get the site with 2000 on the same domain as the rest of the orgainization. The remote site only consists of about 40 users so I'm thinking about just putting a 2003 DC on site and then creating user accounts from scratch. It seems with so few users this might be easier than trying to upgrade the existing domain and then merge them somehow. My main concerns (at this point) are about moving the SQL2000 server between domains (poss…
