Hello, I have a question on how I should set up my Raid scheme for a new web server. I have a Perc 5/e raid controller, and (8) 73 GB sas hard drives. I was thinking that I could do a raid 5 with 7 disks and use one as the hot spare. My needs are to have 4 partitions. 120 gb - OS, 120 - websites, 100- ftp, 100 - misc data. Can I include the active partition in the raid 5, I have read no, I think. Any ideas would be great.

I have the same problem - after I ran the latest automatic update it keeps stopping repeatedly. I setup the bat file below to run every hour as a scheduled task just to keep it running so no one would need to intervene. I have a workstation running XP SP2 with the Domain Admins as members of the local Administrator group. When I map a drive to the workstation to the c$ share I can not create a folder. The account I am using is a member of the Domain Admins. The firewall exceptions are set to allow File and Printer Sharing and port 445 is open. Any Ideas? Thanks

When I want to forward, reply to , or move an email, all that comes up is the frame for the operation without any of the spaces for addresses or text. The email page I am working from is visible through the frame. I am only using Vista security, and I have turned off the pop-up blocker, but this problem persists. I would be grateful for any suggestions. -- Les Moore

Is there a version of the KeyUpdateTool (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/PKUInstructions.aspx) that will work on Windows 2003 Server? This article (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q328874) says that it applies to Windows 2003, but I'm not clear on how. We have some W2K3 servers that we are virtualizing, but since they were installed with the OEM product key, the new virtual machine asks for product activation when the hardware changes. We have a volume license that we can use, but we need to be able to change the key somehow without being too disruptive. Any ideas? Dave

My Dell computer is three months old. I have installed Netzero 3G. The problem started when typing my e-mail the keyboard was very sluggish and IE was not responding when I closed it. Netzero also would not close. I restored the computer to a point before the problem and reinstalled Netzero. Now IE closes without a problem, the keyboard is still sluggish and Netzero is still not responding when I close it. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks. Janet

Ok I feel stupid for this. Here's what I did. I inserted my camera's SD card into my computer and instead of importing like I should, I just did a cut and paste. I was going to delete all the photos anyway. Bad move, now when I left click on an individual pix the whole folder contents are displayed. I can however right click and then right click again on preview to see the individual picture. I changed the file association to Office picture manager and it works fine. Is there any other way to fix this besides changing picture file program association? The SD card is now blank and undo is not available. Vista bugs you gotta love 'em

We have Windows XP environment with Office XP / SP3 (MUI : German), we do not have any problem with this particular configuration but if we install Microsoft Visio on top of this configuration then we notice the problem. Actually we have a file MSSP3GEP.LEX 2,614,054 bytes which is replaced by Microsoft Visio to MSSP3GEP.LEX 2,488,954 Bytes and then we started having the problem with our Proofing tools. if we re-install the hotfix which we already have on the system to replace the file again with a newer version the problem resolves http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923347/en-us • Do you know this described behavior? • Exist any Patches for this problem?…

Hi. I'm running Windows Installer 3.1. Just recently, after using Windows Update, I get the Windows Installer pop-up that says "Preparing to install..." which stays for a few seconds, then just goes away without completing. It doesn't say what it's trying to install. Naturally, while it's there, almost all activity on my computer stops. I've checked the Windows Update history, and it shows all updates installed successfully. This seems to happen almost every time I go to launch an application. Is there a way to find out what's trying to install, and either install it or cancel it?

Hi, I use an OEM copy of Windows XP SP2 Home. Recently, I updated CDBurnerXP Pro 3 to version 4 which downloaded into a different folder than the Pro 3 version. I then attempted to delete the Pro 3 version through Add/Delete Programs. However, the uninstall failed when a message window opened saying, "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the CDBurnerXP Pro 3 disk and click ok." I never had a disk for the program as it was a free download from the website. I clicked the ok button a few times to no avail. I then clicked the cancel button a few times until the message window disappeared. I went into…

I have a share that is mapped (T:\) to my pc when I search (regular old WinXP search function) within a folder on that mapped drive (T:\DOCUMENTS\) I get a strange result, you can view a screenshot here... http://baumshelter.net/search.JPG The text I use (partial file name, no wildcards) to search has no effect...still same results. When I just search T:\ I get the correct results. Any ideas???

Hi: Since last week or so, when I click one of tiny box with picture on the right pane, the site comes right away. Afterwards, I clicked the word on the left-pane, I am NOT able to access the site. There is only part of the desired site that is useless to access. Wonder whether MS Search/Live Search with Google got screwed-up or some transition to change? I only access the desired site by clicking tiny boxes/picture on the right-pane. In the past, I could easily access any sites by clicking either the word of the left-pane or a tiny picture on the right-pane. Any help would be truly appreciated.
