The following was posted in the developer newsgroup. Can anyone help Andre out? Thanks, Eliot Good Morning, i use a convertible Tablet PC, the Asus R1F. Sometimes the mouse hangs a few secounds and i can do nothing with it. The mouse hangs always by breaking-in and out the infobar beside the windowsclock. While the animation of breaking-in and out the infobar is running, i can't move the mouse. First i tought its a problem of my convertible Tablet PC, but on my workplace i got a Tablet PC from fujitsu siemens and there, the problem is present too. I hope someone can help me, i will be very thankful. I wish a nice day. Best regards And…

We bought our twin daughters Dell Laptops, I was torn between getting XP or Vista but went with Vista mainly for it's Parental controls. In getting them set up for they're birthday this coming weekend I had everything set up EXCEPT I cannot get Vista to stop asking for the Administrator's Password when starting iTunes. I have tried everything I can think of, Right clicked on the iTunes exe. and told it to run as administrator, gone into the edit and made sure "Permissions" were set for "Full" use, went to any application icon associtated with iTunes and changed them to administrator and "Full" Permission and then in a last ditch effort went into the Pare…

Hello, I need to search a file in a directory on a shared resource I use for this purpose the Windows Searching Utility by : - either right clicking on the mouse from the root (or one of the first level) directory on the shared resource, - or clicking on the magnifying lens icone on the upper bar of the explorator It always and systematically fails with an error, sthg like "no file found ...." even if i test it with a file which does exists (i.e. whose name i have copied and pasted) On theother hand this searching utility does work on a local disk or my personnal shared resource (such a resource is dedicated to every worker in my workplace) Woh can i m…

When I make a connection to an XP box I notice that only a local USB printer shows up on the host. I have several TCP/IP printers on the remote pc that I would like to print to but they don't show up in the printers list. I have the drivers installed for them on the host. Is there something I'm missing?

This is wierd. A virgin install of Vista and my internet connection is all OK yet when I restore the backup I find that the download speed is only 40kbps. Now this must be a software problem but what could it be? I've reinstalled the LAN and drivers but still the problem persists. Any ideas?

USB 2.0 hubs are not recognized on 2003 Server -SP1. This is a known issue as per KB 892050. I requested a fix from MS and they sent me a link to download the hotfix. I downloaded the exe and it unzips to 2 exes... 1. WindowsServer2003-KB892050-x86-enu.exe 2. WindowsServer2003-KB892050-x86-Symbols-enu.exe There are no instructions as to how the hotfix should be applied The first file does some updates probably to my usbehci drivers.. The second file just unzips a usbehci.pdb in the location which I choose in folders like symbols-->sp1qfe-->retail-->sys Needless to say -- USB 2.0 is still unrecognized after applying the first exe and a reboot. Ca…

Hello, I have a question on how I should set up my Raid scheme for a new web server. I have a Perc 5/e raid controller, and (8) 73 GB sas hard drives. I was thinking that I could do a raid 5 with 7 disks and use one as the hot spare. My needs are to have 4 partitions. 120 gb - OS, 120 - websites, 100- ftp, 100 - misc data. Can I include the active partition in the raid 5, I have read no, I think. Any ideas would be great.
