I recently had my hard drive replaced. Previous to that, I was able to download my Big Fish games with no problems. Now when I attempt to download any of my games from Game Fish, a Spy Sweeper message pops up with "File System Shield has quarantined a potential threat that was trying to install itself." I am not real versed in this sort of thing, but I did try to go into the Spy Sweeper program and check off some of the files such as BFservices, BFclient, etc. and see if that would work but to no avail. I did contact BF and they stated that they had tried recently to get BF to stop blocking their site but they have had no luck. Not sure if that is tr…

Is there any way to change the background color of the 3D Text screen saver? You can set it in the Marque screen saver, but I have a user that REALLY wants to use the 3D Text, but also REALLY wants a different background color. Thanks in advance!

Why does "Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor 1.0" not have a valid Digital Signature? Call me paranoid, but I've been around too long to not sit blindly when it comes to downloading software without digital signatures. Please advise - - -- Huh? Just enough knowledge to be terminally ill!

When I double click on a file in a folder I get the error message "cannot find the specific file please make sure you typed the name correctly and please try again". I can open the file when the shell of that program is open but cannot open the program associated with that file and the file at the same time by clicking on the file. I have unistalled and reinstalled Vista as well as Office 2007. I have disabled all firewalls and spyware. I have read every post to date on the web as well as Microsoft and have found no solutions except to wait for Vista SP 1 to be released. There are many of us with this same problem. Is there anyone that has the …

I have a new Lenovo Notebook - XP Pro SP2 and am in the process of setting it up and some of the files that I want are on my old Dell Inspiron (also XP Pro SP2). Some files, thus far all executables, will not copy. They are located under the "Shareddocs" folder on the Dell. Other executables copy with no problem. If I make a copy of the "offending" folder on the Dell then that new folder will copy which seems to indicate that it is a permissions issue. The Dell has never been joined to a domain though it may have some files on it from another machine that was a member of a domain at the time those copies were done. Note that I can Push the files from…

I have a USB memory stick (Kingston DataTraveler 1GB) that I use for moving files between my work and home computers. At work I run Windows XP Professional and at home Windows XP Home, both kept up-to-date with updates. Ideally, when I plug it into either computer I want nothing to happen - I will run my file synchronization program when I am ready. This is what happens at work. However, at home plugging it in sometimes causes My Computer to open. I have tried to disable all autoplay by right-clicking on the drive in My Computer, selecting Properties and on the Autoplay tab selecting Take no action. Several times when My Computer opened unexpectedly, I checked …
