Hi, when I make a backup on system state with NTbackup I get this problem: Windows 2003 with SP2 In applications logg I get: Source : VSS Event ID: 5 Volume Shadow Copy Service initializion error: the COM classes cannot be registered [0x80004015] In system logg I get: Source: DCOM Event ID: 10010 The server {E579AB5F-1CC4-44B4-BED9-DE0991FF0623} did not register with DCOM within the required time Regards Pierre

How can you increase the thumbnail size in the taskbar? I downloaded a third party software AveThumbnailSizer, but it says install at your own risk. Since this will be doing things to Windows, I hesitated. I was wondering if the Microsoft guys can come up with a similar program which I feel is very handy. It would be nice to be able to read the thumbnails if the size can be adjusted. It's so small, you know it's there but hardly any use for it. Thanks. JV

After installation of Int Exp 7 I want to re-arrange the tool bars: 1.) I want to get rid of the "Live search" entry field 2.) I would like to move the URL entry field bar/line BELOW the menu I did not found a way to achieve this. The URL entry field tool bar is not draggable and the "Live search" entry field" is NOT deleteable. What can I do ? Thomas

I downloaded the FULL IntExp 7 package to my local computer. I expected that I can now install IntExp on my WinXP system WITHOUT additional downloads. But when I start the installation a dialog window pops up informing me that he wants to download "required" updates from Microsoft. This popup stays for approx 20 minutes because the downloads cannot be performed due to my firewall blocks. Why does IntExp needs additional updates? ALL SECURITY UPDATES WERE installed. I don't want some more unknown updates from MS or someone else. How can I prevent this popup and waiting of the installation procedure and just install the browser ? Ken

Bass redirection is that beautiful feature that allows you send all the rich sounding lower frequencies to that ".1" speaker making those bass sounds deep and giving music you know, that "punch". From the very start with their Vista drivers, CreativeLabs crippled their control panels in the sense that the "bass redirection" option was no longer available. I have a problem which I hope someone can help me with. I recently used briefcase to sync with my desk top pc. Everthing went well except, one file for some reason updated from the desk top to the laptop and I have lost the file as it has overwritten all the four days work in the excel file with the blank form that was on the desk top and not the otherway around. Now both pc/laptop both have the blank excel document - is there anyway of receovring or reversing the sync process otherwise it is going to take me longer with the weekend coming up to complete the document again?? Any help in being able to recover the lost document on my laptop would be appreciate…

Thanks to OpenX_UK I went to the Miscrosoft Windows Download site - searched 'KB938194', downloaded it and installed it. I then rebooted to finish the install I booted into Safe Mode where it installed then shut down and restarted - I [F8] again and into Safe Mode Then restarted back into normal boot - all installed fine. Dear all, I am sharing a folder in an XP machine with pre-defined folder structure. I do not want user to change the folder structure, however they are allowed to add, delete files in there. Users could logon locally or through network to access these folders. Once I put in Deny Create folder, I noticed that I can't create files too. Pls advice.

On my friend's computer with Vista he has a TTS voice called LH Michael. I really prefer this voice compared to the new Microsoft Anna. I downloaded Microsoft Reader and the TTS package which put LH Michael on my computer (using Vista also), but does not let me use the voice. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Every time I try to install it brings up an error "EXTextClient Setup X A appropiate version of Winword wasn't found to be installed or installed correctly, setup cannot continue." I am getting error 815:- (The broadband network connection could not be established on your computer because the remote server is not responding. This could be caused by an invalid value for the 'Service Name' field for this connection. Please contact your Internet Service Provider and inquire about the correct value for this field and update it in the Connection Properties) in windows vista while connecting to reliance broadband on my laptop. Anyone can guide me how to solve this?

Has anyone heard of officestation by ncomputing? if so, what are your opinions? can you give me any objective information? I have an internet cafe (no gaming, only business) and am looking into this system by ncomputing. or can you recommend a better system, or maybe a software-only thin client system such as the one made by 2x.com.

If you are getting it for free, I see no problem in using it as a workstation operating system. The installation itself is in workgroup mode. Its the users business really if they want it or not.
