I am running a long set of unattended software tests (native code) on Window Vista. Because I am testing software has frequent changes, several of the tests may contain error and may crash. On my Vista machine, then a test crashes I get the following dialog from Vista: ..exe has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program. with a single button to "Close the program". I need a way to disable that dialog. Hi, I just upgrade my web development server to windows server 2003 R2 (I just installed the first CD), and disabled the enhanced security configuration. I am using dreamweaver MX 2004 as web development tools. Now, I cann't preview template file by press F12. Then, I tried right click on the .dwt file, and select open with..., then select IE to open it. Then IE dosen't show up, and no message box to tell me what's going on. I then rename the file extension to .html, doublclick, it opened in IE. I would like to know how can I let IE to show this template file in windows server 2003. This is an update on an earlier post. I found some info searching archives at ROXIO forum. Other ROXIO users had similar problems. MY PROBLEM: After installing/uninstalling EZ CD-DVD Creator 6 on my XP Home System, all of the 'hidden' type partitions on my HD were being listed in Windows Explorer - which never happened before. The solution I found in the ROXIO forum is to use XP's MOUNTVOL utility to remove 'mount points'. It works. GREAT ! However this solution actually seems like a klooodge. Hello I am running Win XP with SP2 with all the patches and updates installed. I am experiencing the following two problems: ::*1*::. As I try to add a *scheduled task using New Scheduled Task Wizard* available under accessories, it simply freezes as soon as I click "*Next*" at the *first* screen. The task manager shows that it is not responding. ::*2*::. No matter which ever server I try from the list provided at MS website, I *can not update the time*. Hello: I am using Vista and Office 2007. We have an Access database with hyperlinks to documents on our network. One user cannot open these links but others logged onto the same computer can. The user gets the standard message "Some files can contain viruses or other wise be harmful to your computer". Would you like to open this file? When the user clicks "OK" they get the message "Cannot find this document". However, if you copy the hyperlink from the Access database and paste it into Explorer the document opens. So, there must be some setting either in Vista, Office 2007 or Access 2007 that is different for this user but I haven't been able to …

On a laptop running windows xp sp2, I am trying to install downloaded updates using Custom and get the following error boxes: first one that says problem with wuauclt.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close then next box says problem with Generic Host Process for winsvcs32 has encountered a problem and needs to close then finally ntauthority\system does a mandatory shutdown in 60 secs due to a RPC call error and computer reboots. On Tuesday, per schedule, I downloaded and successfully installed the Windows updates. On Wednesday, I temporarily received the shield again, but it quickly disappeared with 0% downloaded. Today, the shield reappeared and stayed at 0% downloaded. In addition, my firewall on my AVG Pro was deactivated, and when I tried to activate it, the computer stalled with the hour glass and no action. I tried to open Process Explorer, but nothing. OK, so I tried to restart the computer, but could not activate anything. Finally, I hit the emergency button and everything is working fine, with no shield this time. I have a Windows 2003 server running a third party application that uses Oracle database. This application requires authentication to use - authenticates within app itself not through AD accounts. Currently only people within the company access the application. However, shortly we will open it up via web site to our business partners and clients. They will also require authentication through the application. My question is will I need to purchase addtional Windows CALs in order for our partners and clients to use this application? Thanks

I recently had to change the default view from Name to Size when opening a file via a programme and is now stuck like it with every programme I use to open or save a file from. How do I get the ordering back to name? Please note that when viewing folders in Windows this isn't a problem, it is just when opening or saving that they are all listed by size. It's very annoying as I keep having to reorder before I can open anything as I can't find it! Thanks, Sarah

Hi guys, I have a winapp which have around 20 buttons, every time that a button is pressed all buttons are disable and when the process is completed then all buttons switch to enable status again. By default, when all buttons are disable I can continue clicking the buttons (disable buttons) and those clicks are stored on "memory", so when the first click is completed then automatically the "next in the row" continues. That's great!!! But, somebody knows who/what/how is manage this caching information? I have some Windows XP boxes that only keep 3 clicks on memory no more, and this behavior was working almost unlimited on Windows 2K. Any idea? Thanks. …

Dear Windows experts :-D I hope that this is the correct newsgroup for this question. If not, would you be so kind to point me to the correct one... ? The problem is as follows: In my Start menu (Start => All programs) all shortcuts are missing. The folders are intact as well as all shortcuts in them. Only the seperate items are gone (for example: Internet explorer, Outlook express, MSN, ...) I have used SRVANY.exe to run the rmiregistry and a java program as a window service. However, if either of these services terminate (the registry or java program) then srvany does not pick up on it and the service does not restart. I have the service properties set to "restart on service failure". I tried to set up the two programs as individual services with one service having a dependency on those two. Nothing has worked so far. Anyone have any ideas?

hi, when i insert a cd into cdrom, cdrom light blinks like its reading the cd, but nothing shows up in cdrom drive. i can open the drive (f: \) but no contents are shown. i tried to boot from winxp cd, it also didnt work. cdrom light blinked for long time like it was trying to read cd but then it booted into windows, instead of winxp setup. when there is no cd or unbootable cd, the system displays the message cd rom FAILURE on booting up i.e. it didnt recognize the un bootable cd or didnt detect any cd in it. i uninstalled the cdrom from device manager and winxp installed it automatically on next boot up but it didnt help also. thanks.

My Sony Click to DVD software on my Sony VAIO PCV-RS530G Computer is not recognizing my Sony DCR-TRV340 Digital Video Camera since I installed Pinnacle Editing Software. When I try to capture from this Digital Video Camera, it is recognizing the Pinnacle Software instead. I uninstalled the Pinnacle Software, and the computer still wants to recognize that same Pinnacle Software that has been uninstalled. The Windows Digital Video Device box shows only Pinnacle Studio or Take No Action.
