Anyone know if there is any free tool out there to view the eventlog on a Windows Server 2003. We want our project managers and developers to be able to access the eventlog without having to go via RDP or something like that ..

Running Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows XP SP2 Pro, Opensuse 10.3 Windows Vista is mostly locking up in cold bootups. Windows Vista locking up after finishing progress bar and before login screen. That is, in black screen that will be shown between Login screen and Progress bar. Please kindly gimme a hint or solution. I have noticed a bug in Vista Ultimate (not sure about the other versions but I am sure it is there as well) that shows up during FTP file transfers. When I upload a file to my server to replace one that already exists there, or when i download a file from the server to my laptop that will replace same, I always see a 'Confirm File replace' dialog box, which is expected behavior. That box shows up for about half a second, and then the 'Copying...' dialog overlays the confirm dialog box. I only have to click on the confirm dialog to confirm that I want to replace the existing file with the new one. However, that behavior should not be happening quite that …

Hello, my vista has been acting funny for quite some time now, and I'm coming here for help. Firstly, my desktop icons, folders, and files don't show their corresponding names anymore, but only the date modified. I no longer have the option to show the name of the file in the document settings. Also whenever I open the personalize window from desktop it opens for a second and closes right away, which is the second problem. There are a lot of windows that will open for a second and close right away including personalize, games, search, windows updater, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i have an HP printer. i have it setup so that the printer is connected to my tablet PC via a wireless connection. after the initial install the printer works fine and seems to be connected to the PC with no issues, but a few days later when i try to print something, i get an issue that says that it can not connect to the spooler for the printer. the printer has a network drive, but that still shows up in "my computer" so i know the printer is still on the network. does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this issue withour reinstalling the printer because that is only a temporary fix.

Could some one please tell me -when I open my favorites from the star icon on the toolbar I click a site on list of favorites,the list then stays open and the name appears on the bar to the right of the favorite and organize favorites icons but does not open.I have to click to close the favorite list and click again on the name of the site to open it. I installed an older version of adaptec cd creators on my Dell dimension 5150 wich came with newer versions of roxio, since I installed this older versin on startup came a note that it wont install those drivers. ( upgrate to soandso, I don't need that) so i deleted those drivers. now my drive E and D drive wont work at all, don't even show up in my computer. I have a problem that recently occurred a couple of months ago, and I can't seem to fix it. When I put a photo card into my HP Printer, Autoplay is automatically started and I have multiple options to view my pictures. Every option works just fine, except "Open Folder to View Files Using Windows Explorer", which of course is my favorite option. On my HP Printer, the window displays the photos just fine. When I choose the Windows Explorer Option in Autoplay, it displays other, older photos that are not on the photo card. Hello! I noticed most of the HDD controller errors occur during shutdown on my dad's old Toshiba Satellite P15-S470 notebook/laptop. A few of these errors even came up during the boot up. The computer only has one HDD, a D: DVD burner drive, and sometimes an external USB flash drive/stick. I have Microsoft keyboard with digital fingerprint reader. Whenever I click on any gadget in the Vista Sidebar I get the fingerprint reader logon symbol appearing over the gadget - making most gadgets impossible to use. Any suggestions?

I imported video from my digital camera. The video and audio are fine during playback using quoictime (I can no longer view them using windows media player nor anything for that matter), but after burning thwm using NTI CD DVD Maker, when played back from the DVD the video plays fine, but I get only about 3 seconds of audio at the beggining then nothing. I used to use WMP to burn my videos and it worked ok exept one batch where the audio was very choppy. Recently, I must have done something because all my JPEG files are now MOV files and that seems to be when the problem with the audio occured.
