I have a few custom Toolbars on the Taskbar. My Taskbar is currently sized at 3 rows. One of my toolbars contains 3 icons. I would like this toolbar to be arranged as 1 column of 3 icons. Example: 1 2 3 However, I can only resize the toolbar to a minimum width of 3 icons. So I get this layout, where X is wasted space: 1 2 3 X X X X X X How can I solve this problem? -- Regards, Frank

I use Windows Automatic Update to install my updates. Just recently, it shows to update to Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable (v2). I have it update but it says that it could not be installed. I tried going to Microsoft's website to download it myself, and do both "Run" and "Save" but I still get an error that states it could not be installed. Then it proceeds to uninstall that package and reboot my computer. I've searched on MS's website and other sites on the internet, no such luck. Anyone else ran into this problem and how can I fix this?

I had a problem with Norton 2005 IS corrupting some files. It affected both browsers, IE 6.0 and Netscape so that I could not get online. I'm not sure if the downloading and video problems are related. Anyway, Norton told me what to do to get back on the internet but said I had to upgrade to 2008. I had just renewed my subscription last month to the tune of $53. and now they wanted me to upgrade at an additional cost of $70.+ I decided against that and want to go with Verizon IS, however now I can't get software downloads to complete and if I want to watch a music video, say on you tube, the video stops after one or two minutes. If I push the slider, sometim…

My system freezes up 80% of reboots. I looked in the Event Viewer and it looks like it's related to the SSL Server credential private key. Any ideas? Thanks! How do I find out how to script the definition of an ODBC data connection? I am developing an Access front-end to an ODBC supported database. When someone new runs the front-end, I would like to check to see if the ODBC connection has been defined for that PC and create the ODBC connection if the connection has not been defined or is incorrectly defined.

when I open PM everything is fine. I then close it and OIS.EXE stays running and keeps a lock on the whole folder I was viewing so that I can't delete any pics or change names of file/folders. I kow this because I installed an unlocker program and it lists one or more instances of OIS.EXE as having the file open - even though PM is closed. When I unlock it from OIS everything is fine. How do I make OIS behave? On my laptop OIS closes when I close PM. Same versions of XP SP2 with updates. thx

Have noticed lately that my desktop icons are slow to draw or refresh on reboot. I remember in Win98 when this would happen there was a file in the Windows folder that I could delete & the file would recreate itself on reboot & would be much smaller in size and that would solve the problem for a while. Is there a workaround like this in XP or any other suggestions to deal w\ this very minor but somewhat annoying problem?? thanx dc

Hi guys, anybody detailed experiences with the destop window manager ? What I want to know is whether it's possible to apply custom pixel shaders on an application window. I know about the blur effect which is realized with a small shader program running on the GPU. Since all windows in vista's aero glass are DX3D textures there should be a way to apply a shader to this texture? MSDN on DWM does not expose such an information. Any ideas ? TIA MueMeister
