fyodor wrote it, not a developer. There is no Forum on the site to ask, but there is a mail list so I subscribed to that. The compatibility issues with Vista for the software that I want to run have been a big issue for me with the O/S(Vista). I hoped somebody in here that has used it could say.

Typing gets erased and menus keep jumping in IE and Firefox
by Guest dimsh2000- 0 replies

I recently noticed that when I type in the search bar on IE or Firefox, the typing cursor would just go back to the start and would only let me start typing from the start again. Also, when I click on a menu in Firefox, it starts jumping to other menus very rapidly, not letting me click on what I need to. Is this another Vista problem and what should I do about it?

RE: Window XP HOME

Hi, I had read this thread to help me with my computer. I had a similar problem except both versions on my computer consisted of XP home edition. I had used the way you had taught John to delete the dualbooting. Thanks it helped. One question though. Although I have no dualboot, I believe my 1st XP still exists on my hard drive. How would I get rid of it? I have a hard time to find it and I believe it is on the same drive. Can you guide me please? DST updates necessary or not?
by Guest chucksweety- 0 replies
Hi, I've spent some time on this looking through the updated articles and faqs, but I see nothing that says I have to push out the latest versions of these updates, or the Update Rollup by November 4th. I patched all of my systems (Windows, Exchange, BizTalk, Sharepoint) back in March and have done some spot testing and it appears on the 4th everything will work fine. I will plan to update my servers accordingly, but none of the TZ changes affect my company at this point. My actual question is: Am I making a safe assumption that not much has changed since the original patches other than some TZ additions and document revisions? Thanks

print by service/scrip choosing the printer/paper tray
by Guest Pierre- 0 replies

hi all, I have a folder which continuously receive PDF files which I want to print. the destination printer depends on various parameters (say the filename) as does the paper tray holding the 'right' paper and whether the document must be printed 1 or 2 sided. not all the printers are of the same brand (HP, Epson) or the even the same model (that's why we use PDF...) is this feasible to do such a thing ? that is, select the printer, the paper tray and the 'sideness' via a script or a service ? TIA, Pierre.

Random logon --- error
by Guest RAAckerman- 0 replies

All of a sudden (this machine is >18 months old) the system returns to the logon screen. It may not return there for 5 minutes or may return there in microseconds after logging on. No virus (or at least McAfee and web test find now). No spyware (two checks as well). It generally means the computer can't be used, since the logon intervals are random- 10 sec, 1 sec, 1 msec

VPN Connections Do Not Redial On Lost Connection
by Guest markmidwest- 0 replies

I have several remote users that connect to my Windows 2003 server via VPN, most can connect in the morning and work fine all day but a couple of them will lose the connection randomly. The icon still shows in the systray like they are connected but they cannot access any server data, they have to disconnect & then reconnect to start working again. I have configured the VPN client to redial if the connection is lost but since the icon is still showing it looks like the connection isn't really lost. Thanks in advance for your help.

Installing Windows Media Services in Virtual PC
by Guest CharlieH- 0 replies

I have a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition VM in Virtual PC. I want to add Media Services. When I try to do so through Add Windows Components, and when it prompts for file location, I browse to the folder where my extracted ISO image is. The actual file is there, but the installer refuses to read it. Any ideas? -- Charlie

Virtual PC/Server won't launch domain controllor.
by Guest hbessel@sympatico.ca- 0 replies

Hello People, My physical computer and O.S. (XP Pro) are fine, and when I launch several other virtual machines-no problem. But when I try to launch a domain virtual controllor machine I get a bunch of different errors, usually NTLDR is corrupt or can't find \windows\system32\config\system or unkown disk related errors. Also get the same errors on a Vista box. I've reinstalled several times, nothing in the BIOS changes anything, I've run out of ideas, help. Hans
