Our review of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard last Thursday lauded its lovely interface innovations but withheld judgment about the operating system's speed until we could put it through its paces. Tests returned from CNET Labs on Saturday show that Leopard didn't perform noticeably faster than Mac ... Link To Original Article

Leopard--the future of the OS market. (Credit: CNET Networks) As many of you are aware, I think Windows Vista is a blunder. And with its annoying UAC system and horrifically slow operation, it won't take long before the majority of home users agree with me. If the recent figures showing Mac OS X is already gaining market share is any indication of the future, look for Leopard to outsell Vista by a staggering margin. Simply put, Mac OS X Leopard is one of the most significant operating system achievements we have witnessed in years. Investor's Business Daily - Playing online games just five or 10 minutes before work helps reduce stress, a study of McGill Univ. found. In the study, a group of telemarketers was asked to play a game before their shift started. The game, MindHabits, is designed so that players must find the smiling faces quickly among different faces. After a week, the group that played the game were rated as being more confident in their phone calls and made more sales. They also showed higher self-esteem, and less stress. Hello, As a test of our backups, I need to do a bare-metal restore of a Windows server using a full backup taken with NTbackup. Presuming that I'm restoring to a server with identical hardware and drive layout, can I do the following: - install Windows 2003 with the same service-pack level into a different Windows directory, e.g., c:\winrestore and into no domain; - run NTbackup and select to restore everything on all drives and the system state, with the option to restore over any existing files; - reboot the server after the restore completes. The server is just an application server in a domain; it's not a DC or anything like that. I'm thinking that…
