MINDSTORM NXT "Error loading fantom.dll Access is denied."?
by Guest Dave-H- 0 replies
I can not run Mindstorm on my XP Home machine. I've reloaded the software (and current driver) numerous times. Still fails with "fantom.dll Access is denied". I've logged in as administrator, and changed permissions for my "user", and "everyone" to be "Full Control" and Mindstorm NXT software still fails with the "access is denied" on the fantom.dll. Anyone have an idea how to fix this? I had a similar problem last May after an update from MS. Norton360 quit working... Never did get that fixed... and Norton kept saying it was MS's fault.

I have been having issues with this update (previously mentioned) I have installed the update many times, yet every time i start up my computer, it says that i have the same update ready to install. The update, everytime i have installed it, has gone through successfully. Yet upon restart it seems to want me to reinstall it anyways. Is there a known fix to this issue? Sorry, i am rather new to this type of stuff so i have no clue what is going on.. Thanks in advance

Error 1933 when trying to install Office 2000
by Guest rthornton- 0 replies

Hello! I'm trying to install Office 2000 on my new (to me) computer, which came with Windows XP Professional (W/ the XP2 service pack). I keep getting the 1933 Error which says certain windows files are protected. I've gone through all the suggestions I can on the Microsoft knowledge base pages related to this error... I tried copying over the .dll files from the PFILES folder on the Office CD-ROM, I tried disabling services... Each time I try to install, I get the same error that asks me to put the Windows XP SP2 disk, which, of course, I don't have. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I tried to delete a folder and received the message "Cannot delete 01149699.cab: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." I then tried to delete the file, itself and received a similar error message. This is just a backup copy of a disk and is not in use. I need to eliminate this folder. What can I modify to allow deletion? XP Pro, SP2 Thanks much for your help in advance. Mike

Hi everyone I know this question has been asked before, but I have failed to find a solution. I would be very grateful to anyone who'd help me solve this! I have updated my system with all possible updates from Microsoft and I have also tried uninstalling my devices and have vista re-install them. Everything works fine in safe mode! The problem is as follows: All of a sudden Vista decided that no Mass Storage Drives, like my DVD-player AND any external USB hard drives will appear with a red circle in Explorer. When I try to expand the drives, I get absolutely no files. When I press "properties" and the "security tab", I am told "You don not have …

File save as and/or file insert
by Guest LSP- 0 replies

In word, excel and when inserting attachments into emails when I try to save or insert files the screen says that the function is not responding. With multiple clicks it will eventually let me move ahead to the next level and then at the next level it hangs-up again until I use multple clicks again. This generally uses up to 5 minutes of time depending how far down I go looking for a specific directory. Is there a solution to this problem?

KB936181 AND Office XP SP 3
by Guest fairyreveries- 0 replies

Sooo I've read several posts on here about the KB9 situation and have followed several of the ideas here that others have found helpful (like uninstalling KB927978...which I don't have...and another which I can't remember off the top of my head....and then to install KB941833 which was also a bust because I got an error message). I am at my wits end. To add to my frustration, when I did one of the suggestive articles, it found that I needed to install Office XP Service Pack 3....I have VISTA and when I go to install this "update" it tells me that I need to insert the CD that the update is on....I need help please....I've tried everything and I cannot seem…

I'm able to boot to Windows, I can "Search" for files and see a list but when I try to open a file I get the message ""can't open the file because it might have been deleted or is in a location that is not available." If I right click on a file to view its properties, It show the first directory below user\account, but the file name is garbled and file size is reported as zero. If I try to do a directory listing from the command prompt, it can not find any files, although the free disk space tha…
