Hello, I am trying to configure the Windows server 2003 Fax which i did successfully. But as our server is very limited on disk space (c: is running out of space). I would like to change all the fax folders to another local drive. Now it is possible to do most of them through the MS Fax Service manager but the most crucial once is the Queue and the Common cover pages, these we cannot change them through the console. I did some research and some pages saying we have to do it in the registry key but i just don't know where the reg key is. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance Nile

On 2 domain member servers, we use administrator or a member of domain admins to start specific services. Rebooting or restarting the services requires reentering the password for the account. I've setup a GP to allow the particular user the rigth to logon as a service as per the KB article which number which escapes me at this moment, to no avail. Part II; anyone have a script that restarts a service not running as system account, and needing a password? thnx in advance

In my domain I would like to prevent Windows XP sp2 clients from creating shares on their file system, but I would still like to allow them to share printers. I think it is a all or nothing deal with group policy, but want to verify that there is no other way to do it. Thanks.

by Guest none@none.com- 0 replies

Good morning all, I have problem that has baffled me but I am sure someone here knows what to do. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. I have 2 user accounts on this computer, the Administrator account Windows make you create when you boot the computer the first time and then I have a user account that is set as administrator. When I log in under the true Administrator account, I can upload pictures to Snapfish.com using their quickupload with IE or FF. However, when I log in to my user account I cannot upload pictures using quickupload with FF or IE. It lets me select the pictures to upload and gets to the point where they are all listed and ready to go but it…

I'm helping a co-worker with her home computer. She picked up a nasty virus. I had to reoload her win 2000 and when it came to hook her back up on the web the following error occurred. Could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager Service... Error 711 In addition when using the internet wizard in attempt to connect the wizard shuts down at the referral number stage. I tried looking for a tape driver on her (veritas) hardward manager but there is none. I also tried looking at the telephony it was not disabled or stopped. any ideas. I'm stumped. (short of her wiping her hard drive and getting a new windows programs)

I am about to take both of my printers out to a field and smash them into tiny little pieces. When ever I try to print something it will NOT print what it is supose to. What comes out is something "like" it but missing lines, text, very poor quality and sometimes nothing at all(it will act like it's printing but nothing will be on the paper). Went through all normal troubleshooting-new cables, new cartridges, NEW PRINTER! Help me save my printers and my sanity. thanks

I have a problem with my Vista Home Premium installation where the CPU Frequency always shows the maximum available speed (1.66 GHz for my T5500 Core 2 Duo processor) and voltages. On the Vista Resource Monitor, the Max Frequency (blue line) is shown as 0%. The Performance Monitor tool shows it as maximum. The WMI raw performance figures shows it as maximum and never changes. If I use a tool that shows the actual CPU speed/voltage by looking the processor itself, it appears that the CPU is being correctly adjusted when the CPU goes idle, so it EIST appears to be enabled OK. I've just done a clean re-install to see if this fixes it, but still the same. …

Dual boot - drive letters.
by Guest Marko- 0 replies

We have 2 machines with XP and Vista dual boot. On the one machine the OS I boot into always shows itself as being on C:\ and the other OS on D:\. In other words: When I boot into XP then XP is on C drive and when I boot into Vista then Vista is on C drive. On the second machine XP is ALWAYS on C:\ and Vista always on D:\ I like the idea of my OS always being on C:\ drive as that's what I'm used to. Is there a way to make the second machnine re-assign the drive letters depending on which one I boot into without re-installing Vista??
