I am about to take both of my printers out to a field and smash them into tiny little pieces. When ever I try to print something it will NOT print what it is supose to. What comes out is something "like" it but missing lines, text, very poor quality and sometimes nothing at all(it will act like it's printing but nothing will be on the paper). Went through all normal troubleshooting-new cables, new cartridges, NEW PRINTER! Help me save my printers and my sanity. thanks

I have a problem with my Vista Home Premium installation where the CPU Frequency always shows the maximum available speed (1.66 GHz for my T5500 Core 2 Duo processor) and voltages. On the Vista Resource Monitor, the Max Frequency (blue line) is shown as 0%. The Performance Monitor tool shows it as maximum. The WMI raw performance figures shows it as maximum and never changes. If I use a tool that shows the actual CPU speed/voltage by looking the processor itself, it appears that the CPU is being correctly adjusted when the CPU goes idle, so it EIST appears to be enabled OK. I've just done a clean re-install to see if this fixes it, but still the same. …

Dual boot - drive letters.
by Guest Marko- 0 replies

We have 2 machines with XP and Vista dual boot. On the one machine the OS I boot into always shows itself as being on C:\ and the other OS on D:\. In other words: When I boot into XP then XP is on C drive and when I boot into Vista then Vista is on C drive. On the second machine XP is ALWAYS on C:\ and Vista always on D:\ I like the idea of my OS always being on C:\ drive as that's what I'm used to. Is there a way to make the second machnine re-assign the drive letters depending on which one I boot into without re-installing Vista??

I've been asked to find the world's most replicated hardware computer bug, i.e. for example something that's been in the Intel processors for 20 years or so. Disclaimer: I used to work at Microsoft, (on hardware) still work with some of them so this a technical challenge not having a go at anyone. So far, I can find a bug where the FM sound registers are in an apparent random order . I found this in 1985 when I programmed, the, as then new, YM3526 Yamaha sound chip, used in a sound card. Apparently Bug found again by Linux programmers when trying to emulate Soundblaster registers I think OPL2 core now integrated into the South Bridge of the motherb…

by Guest R.S.Lynn- 0 replies

I followed the instructions on the InstallShield website (consumer.installshield.com) and deleted the directory for "9" and it is gone. I followed their instructions for downloading IsScript9.zip, unzipped it, and tried to open itas instructed. Got the error window Windows Installer This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it . . . et cetera I wish that I could contact InstallShield by e-mail or otherwise. Or Norton, whose application I am trying to install, and which uses InstallShield version 9.0 333.0 I am going to go ahead and retrieve the deleted InstallShield 9 directory, but that wil…

Changing Windows 2k3 PID and license key from MSDN to OEM
by Guest David B- 0 replies
Hi all, I've recently installed a new win2k3 box to run as an ISA server with a technet license (to test and deploy prior to deciding whether to keep it or not). After al the tests going well I'd like to change the licensing on the box from technet to our retail licenses. I have an OEM win 2k3 license I'd like to change it to. However since the PID is 296 (MSDN), it's not accepting the OEM license key. Any suggestions on how to change this? I also have to change the license on the ISA server software, any suggestions on doing that also appreciated. Thanks, David.
