I have noticed that consistently the value for Average Disk Queue Length is 1% of the value of % Disk Time. Both physical and logical disk counters are on. I have checked this on several systems with and without RAID disks. Can anyone comment on this?

I don't even know if this is the right place to post this but....here goes. I always make naruto amvs, but this time, while I work on my movie, whenever I rewind it or fastforward it the audio is TOTALLY out of sync with the video. This makes it take even longer whenever I want to preview what I just did on my video, because I have to start the whole thing over again! Is there any solution? -- J15A7X

I am calling a logoff script using group policy and users experience a 600 second delay logging off in the following two scenarios: Scenario #1 1. Connect to VPN before logon 2. Log on (group policy applies setting to call logoff script from a network location on log off) 3. Disconnect from VPN (but stay connected to an external network) 4. Log off (The system hangs at the “running logoff scripts†screen as it can no longer connect the server the logon script is on and then times out after 600 seconds) Scenario #2 1. Connect Internal Network before logon 2. Log on (group policy applies setting to call logoff script from a network location on log o…

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone finds it useful (like ME in the future!). I found the same error many times googling for an answer, but no solutions. I tried something simple on this computer and it worked. Error: During XP install it stops and says this: An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing. Other messages I've found around the internet show that It always seems to happen at the ASMS part of the install. Solution: Well, this will only work on specific computers obviously but it could be a useful clue. I just used the other CD-rom drive! This computer had 2 and I was installing from the top drive. After trying an…

Hi there, It has been awhile but I have had this symptom this week on my 2000 server, I also have a McAfee Firewall. After editing the firewall settings I noticed a block on my programs list for the MsTask servicee. After removing this block of this program I was successful in re-starting the service. I know it has been awhile but I hope you get this message, I often find that most people would have re-formated their hard disk and reloaded their O/S. Thanks for your post. D. I am going to back out this update for the following reason: After loading this sp1 and another update afterwards, I get the blue screen of death when I put the computer to "sleep" and try to "wake it up". This feature was working faultlessly prior to the installation of the service pack. I should have known better than to install it, but I was hoping it would help with general stability issues. I have been through the release of every version of Windows and this one has as many, if not more, issues than Windows 98 and ME. I am very disappointed. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestion…

Since installing this via WSUS all our XP workstations are configured to start SMTP Service and IIS Admin Service automatically. Note that Outlook does not require this service. I notice that the majority of them are also running the Web Publishing Service automatically. This may be a legacy of how my predecessor set them up, or it may also be SP3 related. Are any of you having the same experience? -- Newell White
