Our 2K3 server becomes very sluggish at time and i need to try find out what the cause may be. I would like to be able to monitor traffic, etc. Any suggestions where to start. Config is: P4 3.0GHz, 2Gig ram, 2x80Gig mirrored system drives, 2x250Gig striped data drives. Obviuosly servers do get busy, but there appears to be sluggish response even when we are at quiet times in the business. Maybe our server has become "too small" The network icon is always on and there is always data being sent / recived. This could also just be normal .... but it may not be. Any help would be appreciated. Regards

Since I have installed the free OneCare program to my computer, I couldn't install any Windows Update. I turned off my firewall and tried to download but I still couldn't install the new updates. I just wonder what happen to my computer? Initially the windows update will have an error code (sorry I forgot the code) saying that I need to shut down my firewall, and when I turned it off, another error code (80240016) will show up and prevented me from installing. The problem is that I did not install other updates. This same error code shown up for alre…

Hi, After installing Windows XP SP3, Synchtoy 1.4 repeatedly crashes when started with the ususal "SynchToy.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close ..." So I send a report hoping to get some feedback but nothing. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall it and still encounter the same problem. there is absolutely no way to start it without the above error message. Help !!! NOTE: Just an FYI: The same problem seems to happen with Microsoft Word 2003 and it will only open in safe mode. The problem is solved by renaming the 'normal.dot' file and then performing a 'detect and repair'. Unrelated to this problem but I was wondering if there is a s…

I've a very strange problem which I've tried numerous forums to try and fix and no-one seems able to help. About a week back access to my SBS through my network documents stopped working. However, I can access my server based mailbox and the server files direct through IE. Any thoughts?

Hi, I have mounted a disk to an empty NTFS folder - "C:\Program Files\Custom", I then install various applications to that mount point. However, I found that I am not able to add application (*.exe) that installed in mount point to Windows Firewall's exceptions list. It show "Windows Firewall cannot add <application name" to the list of exceptions". For testing reason, I copy the exe file outside the mount point, e.g. "C:\Program Files", "C:\Users\<Username>\Documents", "C:\" and etc, it can then be added to the exceptions list. As long as the exe file is not in a mount point, it can be add to exceptions list! Anyone know what is going wrong and h…
