This security update addresses these vulnerabilities by modifying the way Internet Explorer handles HTML and validates data. For detailed information on the contents of this update, please see the following documentation: [*]Microsoft Security …

Hello all I've been posting to ...windows.vista.general but have not gotten an answer to my problem, so that might have been the wrong group. Maybe this one is better? I'm sorry if anyone feels spammed.. :-) Here's my problem: When trying to backup my C: drive, backup fails with an unexpected error. Through the event log, I can see that the error is caused by VSS, which reports event 12293 with hr = 0x800706be. "Vssadmin list writers" shows that some writers have troubles: - System Writer [7 - Failed] - MSSearch Service Writer [7 - Failed] - WMI Writer [7 - Failed] Furthermore, I receive error dialog boxes saying that "host process for Windows-Serv…

I've just installed a slipstreamed copy of XP SP3, and I've noticed a number of Windows components aren't there, as they were in XP SP2. In particular: * Internet Explorer * Remote Desktop Connection IE is easy enough to install on its own, but putting back Remote Desktop Connection seems trickier.
