Hallo, after installing sp1 in my hp compaq 6720s laptop with vista home premium preinstalled, i have observed the following problem: Sometimes when i turn on the laptop or reinitiate it, the battery´s icon in the notification area of the task bar, appears empty as it would be discharged, which is not certain because it says 99% available, connected and without charging. I used to solve the problem reinitiating the computer because ticking in the battery icon in notification area of properties in task bar doesn´t solve it. ¿Does anybody knows what is the cause of the problem and how to solve it without reinitiating? Thanks in advance Regards Clara

Hi, After updating SP1 on Vista ult. NL 32b the: "The Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework service" is returning an error 3, missing / corrupted. How can i re-install this service? The dutch newsgroup has no answer in this case. Vista won't install new USB devices at this moment, keeps searching for drivers, that can't be found.. Already installed usb devices work, but giving a continue search for drivers, witch vista cannot find. Is there a tool like dialafix? I'll not be happy if I have to reinstall windows completely for this "only". Tnx, MK

Sir/Madam, I recently installed Encarta 2006 on Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.The installation went well without any problem. After I start Encarta 2006 on my PC and type a word or phrase in the search bar only the search bar appears on the right side of the screen, but no relevant results are displaced. The search bar just remains blank. However this feature worked fine earlier on my PC with Windows XP SP3. Kindly inform how I can resolve this issue. Thanks and regards, Vinay Salimath

Hi, Is it possible to configure windows server 2000 or 2003 to only allow a given port to be used by a given application, e.g. application named fred can only use port 123 and no other application can ever use port 123. The reason for this is that occasionaly the application must be taken down and during this time other applications can grab the port so when fred comes back up it cannot run on that port. I am not a server expert and it is not my applications, but a client was experiencing this situation and I thought I would ask around if there was such a configuration that could be put in place. Thanks, Nate
