Hi, I've done this dozens of times on my local XP, so this should be automatic, but now I am confused because I can't connect to the SQL Server 2005 instance databases on newly installed Windows Vista. The standard "localhost\instance_name" connection is not working. When I tried to connect a database on the default installation with just "localhost" string, it works fine. I would really appreciate if you could give any comment or suggestion. YC

Microsoft Charging $90 for .NET Undermines Huge Market Compelling The Use of Linux! [2] Anybody with eyes sight can see "digital signage" emerging as a "display device platform" and a HUGE OPPORTUNITY FOR DEVELOPERS as the display device platform emerges and people understand the many many opportunities now available to them. Typical current digital signage implementations utilize larger LCD displays with project costs in the many thousands of dollars. Who can argue with the facts as anybody can observe? Go into any of the thousands of taverns, mom and pop restaurant or coffee shop in any regional urban locale and you'll never ever see them using large for…

Program: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contract the application's support team for more information. I'm running a Windows 2003 x64 server. We have an application on a Windows XP machine that connects to the server through 3 specific ports, all of which are listening. When I try to connect, I get the following message and fails to connect: "Pre-Existing Host Connection. There are currently 1 other application(s) connected to host: xx.xx.xx.xx" I have never seen this message before. Has anyone else? We have a dozen other 2003 servers (all of them not x64) that we can connect to without this problem. There is a direct connection between the XP machine and the server, and the firewall was diabled. Thanks -Nathan
