Hi, i had some trouble with the windows moudular stopping. So from a suggestian from Vista, I set my PC back to factory Settings. I have Vista Basic Home, IE 7, I mostly use AOL, the moniter I'm using is Samsung 226bw, 20 inch wide screen. The text seems to be very small and the Icons too, and when i got online all the pages seem to small as well, most pages don't even fit to the current page, using like 1/3 of the screen. I have changed DPI, the screen resolution, also the settings in IE. And that seems to just make everything disorted, to where nothing fits right. I have Windows XPpro, service pack 3, running IE7. The computer is approximately 4 years old. My plug & play drive settings in system restore keep getting changed. I have system restore set not to monitor that drive because it hasn't got anything on it except music and graphics. I'm not sure that it matters but the drive is a Seagate Free Agent with 500 GB of storage. From time to time I notice my system slowing down and when I check system restore the setting is changed to "monitoring". Does anyone know how this happens? Dear All: The Machine is a HP M7690& with an intel processor 1.8 ghz and Windows XP Media Center OS with 4 gig of Ram I downloaded SP3. Machine won't reboot Tried "last known good config" and still no Joy Ran OK in Safe Mode Removed SP3 after no solutions worked. I've lost the connection to Remote Desktop Program ( Icon is still there but no connection) I use it for remote admin of a server at a Server Farm ( Servepath) on a Windows 2003 server. When I dictate any length line using the Vista Speech Recognition I always get the Alternatives Panel popping up with a truncated version of what was said instead of the line just being typed on the page. Is there a setting that is set wrong? Thanks Michael

i have a print server that i changed the name, domain, and IP address of. I updated DNS and WINS to have the old name point to the new IP thinking that would buy me some time allowing them to still use their old network printer setups until i got around to re-setting them all up with the new name of the server, but it looks like it's telling them they can't connect to them? anything i can do to fix this?

Recently installed Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini external drive. Comes with software. I have read some threads about inserting windows movie maker files on a web publication. I just don't get it. I created a short slide show with movie maker and saved it to the file I have my web page on. I just named it "video" as a separate file and uploaded it to the web page. I put a hyperlink on the web page to that file.. I saved it as a "win media low bandwith" ..WMV file. I am using Vista and MS Pub 2007.. When I transfer a big file (40GB) via a shared folder, then the speed infact (size/time) is only 100Mbit/s, while with other applications I can transfer files at 800Mbit/s. I have checked a lot of parameters at perfmon, and found that at the receiving end, the speed of disk writes is limited (only in MS file sharing) to only 12,000,000. If someone knows a solution to this please let me know. If someone can repeat my experiment - You would need disks that are capable of at least 30MByte/s, and a gigabit network.
