I have a file (a Crystal report) in a share that I want to access from an app installed on computers that are on a different domain from the server on which the share exists. Now the file is located on a Windows 2003 server and I can no longer access it. The share permissions are the same on the new server as they were on the old one and I realise that the Everyone token is no longer handed out to anonymous logons anymore by default in 2003 so I enabled the default domain controller policy setting to allow everyone permiss…

I bought my copy of XP Pro OEM before SP1 and SP2. As they came along I installed them on top of my old version. Now I have a few programs (one is OE 6) that have been corrupted but still work after a fashion. I would like to do a repair install but my install disc tells me that it can't do it because my Win XP has been modified or upgraded or something like that. But, I have a brand new unopened copy of XP-SP2 OEM that I plan to use to build another system. Can I use that copy to repair the programs on my current system?? If that is possible, would the repair do anything goofy like implant its ID or serial number on top of my current install. Would …

I am the administrator on this machine. Windows Vista Business on a corporate network. I tried the solutions offered in an earlier post namely: configuration./Admin.Templ./ Win Components/Windows Sidebar "Disable unpacking and installation of gadgets that are not digitally signed." to disabled and "turn off user installed gadgets" to disable. After restarting the machine I still cannot install gadgets message "Can only be installed by system administrator." Any suggestions would be appreciated. -- dpeters Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com

I just tried to load a Santana album into itunes and followed the directions to install the copyright protection on the cd (Media Max) BIG Mistake! My AVG flagged it as a virus. I did a little reserch and found some of the problems I am now in for. I am very carefull about what programs I install and stupidly trusted that a legitimate sony bmg cd would be OK. I undestand it is a security risk and want it gone, but I have read that it can be a real problem to try and unistall. What now? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
