When i type the password in my HP Laptop, the screensaver flashes for ..01seconds then the computer starts the normal shutdown procedure. I ran chkdsk from the recovery disk. no problems. i took the HD out and tried to read it as an external HD on my desktop in an enclosure - Doesn't show up as a drive. Looking for ideas??

My Windows Vista came with Real Tek Audio and I am not sure what I did but now I don't have sound please can you help me. My speakers are in the monitor and I didn't touch anythouch but a couple clicks on the sound because it made a sound like I was in a bathroom or room with nothing in it so I tried to change that and nowI have noghting and NO it's not muted either. Hi I have windows XP pro on my current system "c:/windows" SATA DRIVE 250GB I have installed another "D:/" SATA drive and copied windows 2003 server image. Bios have boot option "SATA Drive" only no option of disk selection along with other floppy/cd options. Problem is I cannot use dual boot. If I disbale first drive which have win xp then I can boot and run windows 2003 server if I enable first drive it goes to XP not giving me any option to boot through win 2003. I have tried to change boot.ini but no luck Can any one guide me how I can use as dual boot . What entries should I do to use boot ini. My Currrent boot.ini something like this. …

Hi, After adding a TV card, Vista refuses to start. Hi All, My problem is that every time I start my computer Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service stops responding and has to close. There is no data associated with the problem. Media Player itself crashes immediately upon opening. I have been looking for a fix for this problem for some time and have yet to find a solution. I have Vista Ultimate x64 with all available updates installed. At this point I am going to just disable the service altogether until a solution is found. This is quite annoying. I had the same problem in getting the installer cleanup utility to work after i installed it 'Run as Admin'. the errror was somethign like error with server referral. Anyway, I fixed it by trying something similar that I did recently to uninstall both Safari and Quick Time (with both would fail through Add/Remove Programs - dang that Apple). Basically, I just enabled and logged as the local Administrator account (disabled by default after installation), then ran the installation. Voi la! Installed easliy and I removed some old apps that didn't have the option to uninstall thought Add/Remove Programs. The Apple stuff just completed their uninstalls as well wit…

I thought I installed a language pack on my computer, however when I checked this using microsoft control panel languages it is only showing english on my computer. I also have options to install different languages from windows update and I have not received any notification from microsoft about vista sp1 ( I have a visual studio subscripition and have received a dvd version of vista sp1) Is their any other way to check any langages packs installed on my computer?

I NEED HELP! ACCESSING EXTERNAL DRIVES This is a problem that came up about two months ago. Before that, no problem. I use: Win XP Home Ed SP-3 When I access an External Drive using USB, (Flash drive, camera, backup portable drive, etc.) it is recognized and assigned a Drive Letter. It shows the folder icons. However when I try to access (open any files) I get the message "This Operation Has Been Cancelled Due to Restrictions in Effect on This Computer. Out of the blue I get a 'End Program' message when I try to shut down Windows XP2. If I end the program the computer shuts down and no harm seems to be done. The message is regarding the rundll32.exe. If I click cancel I get another non-responsive program GDI+ Windows (no idea if that's supposed to be so after not ending rundll by force). Hi, I have a Trust Bluetooth dongle, which works perfectly. I use it to connect a Logitech Laser Mouse and an LG L600V, the latter thru its own software. Never had a problem. Lately, the bluetooth icon which used to sit in the system tray (notification area) is gone. I have checked the registry and the relative key is set to 1. If I open bluetooth thru the control panel, I uncheck > apply > check > apply, the icon reappears and works perfectly, until the next restart, where it's gone again... Considering: - SSPD Discovery Service is Disabled - UPNP Service is Disabled - Registry Key is set to 1 Any suggestions? Regards, Lupo
