Hello, I have a device I am trying ot connect with bluetooth. In it's instructions it says (when connecting) "The secure connection on the laptop or desktop must be disabled for the Destron Reader to properley connect to a computer. For instructions on disabling this feature talk to your bluetooth device software manual" Now I am using the default windows drivers so that would be Microsoft. I have checked with my laptop website and no specific drivers found. (I may check again) So the steps I do is find the device. Then choose to setup a connection with it. At the passkey part I choose "No passkey". The device connects and sets up a comm por…

Having some problems with LCS 2005 web access whilst trialing it for production use. I'm getting an error 1 when logging on, and various websites have pointed towards a problem with the certificate. Now I'm not a big fan of certificates, and will admit to not knowing much about the implementation with Certificate Services in Svr 2003. I've requested a certificate from the CA with the name of the FQDN machine with web access installed on it. Could anyone give me some advice or a resource that has step-by-step guides on how to implement both Web Access and LCS 2005.

We already have a GPO in place to rename all our local administrator accounts to another name, but the problem is someone can still tell straight off (i know the SID could give it away too) that it's the admin account since it's description still says it's the administrator account... is there anyway to change this local admin description though a GPO or simple script on a remote computer to say something different? thanks!

Another IT guy came in to remove a Print Spooler T virus from my customer's server. Now when I try to reload a print driver the systems tells me that the print spooler service is not started. When I go to services to start her print spooler I get the message: Could not start the print spooler. Error3: The system cannot find the path specified. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks, David

In mid June in this newsgroup, there was an off-topic conversation about the filtering of posts in MS newsgroups. In order to get the straight story on the issue, I asked my MS contact to comment on the filtering issue. If you would like to read his comments, please download a zipped .txt file from my web site: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/assets/images/Filtering.zip If you have any comments, you can contact me via email through my web site rather than starting another off-topic thread here. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Shell User

I notice a problem or two in Windows Explorer. The less serious problem: If I have navigated several sub-folders down on a folder tree e.g. Users > Public > Public Documents > Intuit > QuickBooks > Company Files and then start navigating back up by double-clicking the parent folder in the Address Bar (in this example: QuickBooks), I'll get an error saying that the sub-folder I started in is currently unavailable. In this example the error would be: Address Bar ------------- 'C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks' is currently unavailable. But then Explorer shows me the QuickBooks folder despite the error. This occurs …

I am at a loss, we have a program for scheduling rooms. I would like to make the scheduler interactive. Right now the program is used by an office staff. The objective is to have the schedule appear on a website and have the users view the schedule for room availability. The program has the capabilities for doing so but I do not know how to go about it. What I would really like is to have an embedded code on the web page to gain access to view the scheduler. I guess the question is what do I need equipment wise? How would I access it through the internet?
