I keep getting an error in Event Viewer System Log that reads "The Single Frame Film Scanner service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified". As far as I can tell my 35mm slide scanner is working properly. My question is: how do I fnd the name of the file the system cannot find? Any help would be welcome (Using Vista Home Premium with SP!)

I am talking about the LEFT side of the windows XP startup. The startup menu theme is Windows XP NOT Windows Classic. I need to make a pinned folder on the LEFT side of the Windows XP start menu to display a sub menu (or drop down list) list for shortcuts, and NOT have windows explorer open a folder for the custom shortcuts instead. I know you can change folders in the right side menu to show sub menus (or drop down list) by selecting "Display as link" option, but there is no such option for new folders. Hi all I just upgraded my 2000 server with an additional 1gb RAM. Now I have a problem.. Users (which are not admins) are complaining that they cannot save a file which they open from their folder on the server. They have full rights on their respective folder but still they cannot save, change filename or delete file.. it says a sharing violation or something like that. Also the office files are leaving like TMP files when opened and I cant delete these files also! Can someone suggest a solution to this problem please?? Thanks a lot!

Hi, I have customized and installed a few applications on a notebook Vista Home system. I have another two of these notebooks and I want to clone the configured Vista's disk to the other two. Can I simply clone and run some utility to reset a few GUIDs so the cloned notebooks get their own identity? Or - do I *need* to use sysprep...? I recently recieved a new computer with Vista Business. I tried to sync my Dopod 838 Pro with WMDC and got it connected, but the option to sync with Outlook was greyed out saying "outlook is not installed". Since then, I've tried to sync my new HTC TYTN II with WMDC and had the same problem. I've got Outlook 2000 installed and working fine. For some reasong though WMDC doesn't see it. I understand that Microsoft don't support 2000 anymore, but I'm wondering if there's a work-around until my business upgrades to Office 2007 in 3 months time. Thanks.

After downloading XP sp3 I ran out of space during the instal. I've resized my drive partitions to give me the space required but the update website won't show me the download option again. How do I run the instal from my drive using the downloaded file?

My problem> i got the following problem on my laptop HP 6720s under Vista Home basic edition (i have also installed the service pack 1). I cannot connect to any netwrok (wireless or wired) because some services are not running and after investigation i realize that the problem starts on the service in subject. My platform is Vista SP1 and the chip is Infineon (TPM 1.2) On Calling the TPM_Seal operation the TBS is returning a strange error code of 0x80280401 which is "Invalid Handle". The key is already loaded in the TPM and Im using the same handle returned by the TPM. Most of the other operations are fine including use of OIAP / OSAP sessions and / or any other key. Any ideas would be appreciated.
