Hi all Windows 2003 AD Formerly, I could type in the partial name of a printer when using the add printer wizard from any XP/Vista client The names no longer appear - I now have to browse the printer server to see all attached printers and add them manually. My mother-in-law bought a new computer, running Windows Vista. I was updating it and seen where it was going to take approx. 2 hours to download updates. I turned off the window that comes up when she closes Internet Explorer or her Windows Mail account. This window gave her the option to click on a box to disconnect right away so she wouldn'r forget to disconnect. I can't find the option to bring back up this window. Anybody know where it is? I am having a problem which has just started up until this morning. my laptop with vista, that came with my lenovo, worked fine. now, well its gone crazy. i will explain and hopefully someone will be able to help. i tried to update my anti virus (Symantec) when i was greeted with an error message " the service cannot accept control messages at this time " i tried ccleaner, same message. windows defender, same message. some programmes, worked fine. I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 and ISDN internet. When I lose my network connection (for unknown reasons) which happens sometimes at random, the computer seems to hog the memory and freezes momenterily and runs really slowly while it is attempting to reconnect. The last time this happened I got the following error. I've never recieved an error before and i am not sure it the error report relates to previous errors. The PC runs very well under normal circumstances, it is a Dell Dimension 5150. My modem is an NT1 Plus II USB ISDN Modem. I have my account that works on my vista laptop but I cannot get any other user accounts to work. They worked before. All I get is a blue screen and and curser with no desktop. If I boot in the safe mode all the accounts work. I have tried deleting and adding new accounts and it's the same thing! I wish I stayed with XP! I hope someone can help! Thanks, Brian in MI

Can anyone help? I have not had the time to learn anything about Vista. When I go to search for documents, there is a drop down that shows several hyperlinks. I am trying to remove the hyperlinks from my search results. I use both Explorer and Firefox. I know that searched these sites in Explorer but they are showing as Firefox link. I have tried everything deleting cache, temp files, cookies, etc. I have also tried searching site to see if they would list the latest sites searched that doesn't work either. Please help. Thanks.

I posted this question somewhere else and got no replies, so I'll try putting it here. I can get Task Scheduler to display a message. However, if I am actually USING the pc then the message gets shunted to the back of the screen, and is "displayed" BEHIND the open windows. It also has a pathetic little "ding" sound as the audible warning. In other words the reminder is hidden and doesn't remind anything. It is pretty damned useless like this (as much use as a chocolate teapot) and I can't find the option to display the message ON TOP of the other open windows (to be any good it should display on top by default), if such is even there, and one should …
