I'd post this in the 2003 Server group, except there isn't one. :) I just installed the trial version of 2003 Enterprise Server SP2 and after the installation, the system reboots, the splash screen displays, then the video signal disappears. I'm using the ATI AIW 9600 video card. When booting into safe mode, the Devices list shows the 9600 series drivers loaded. Why is the screen going blank if the default Windows drivers are loading? I have checked several forums and there are many people using the same card with this OS. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. T. M.

I found that a Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) driver was offered on windows update for the new Gigabyte EP45-DS3. After installing I discovered the driver was older than my current one. Surely dates are checked for drivers during the update process? The driver failed, so I rolled back. Easy enough, just letting you know.

PROBLEM RESOLVED! I uninstalled the SP3, then did some basic troubleshooting of my cd-rom drive...it appears that the problem was in the registry files..I got an error message when I accessed this :"_NEC NR-7800A properties (Code 39)" saying the device driver may be corrupted or missing. So, with that in mind I went to http://www.dell.com typed in the 'Code 39' which led me to the http://www.microsoft.com fix titled 'Guided Help'...simple as that, it fixed it and my cd-rom is now working like usual. Hope this helps anyone else who may have the same problem. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "Lou 62" wrote: > Hi, I have a …

Sorry for the repost on this. I posted this in a wrong newsgroup I beleive. I'm running into a robelm when I attempt to install 2.8 SP1 on a Windows 2000 Professional machine. 'm receiving an Advanced Inf Installer pop up box stating INF Installer failure. Reason: Access is denied. Any idea on this or how I can resolve it to get MDAC 2.8 SP1 on W2K installed. I need it for one of my applications to install.

Those who have foolishly installed the Powertoy "Microsoft Virtual Desktop Manager" - as I did - soon discover that when they uninstall it, it does not uninstall fully and leaves debris all over. One of the peskiest ones to get rid of is the Taskbar toolbar which continues to show "Desktop Manager" even after that toolbar is no longer functional! Kelly (great guy) has now created a reg file to remove that toolbar. The XP Tweak is found at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm # 401 right side. Thank you Kelly! Another way to get rid of "Microsoft Virtual Desktop Manager" is to Restore to before it was installed rather than try to uninstall…

We currently use the code below to verify that a QFE is installed properly after it is installed online. We want to do the same thing after installing QFEs offline. Is there a way to do this programatically, similar to this method? What we have found is that no offline applied QFEs show up in this method currently. They do however appear in the Installed updates in the control panel. They also show up in WMI, but there is no flag for either operation or resultcode. In order to keep our global community comfortable that the updates are applied properly we need to log that the installs were successful programatically. Set objSession = CreateObject("…

You read it right. Microsoft has sold 180 million licenses of Windows Vista following their announcement on posting 60 billion dollars of revenue for fiscal year 2007 - 2008, the highest in their history. That is definitely a lot of licenses however, John Fontana of PCAdvisor was quick to say “http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?...id=13767″.
