Hi everyone, my team and I are having a strange problem, we administer a password change every 90 days. The group policy gets applied and the password is changed on the local machine, the employees get in do thier work for that day then they logout and go home. The following day the employee comes in and they are now locked out. I now have to manually type in the password on the server for it to be applied. Then they are fine for the next 90 days, please HELP! I know that something is being missed.

Is there a list of possible causes for the Active Desktop Recovery? We are getting this on a number of our domain pc's. We use active desktop via group policy to deploy our standard desktop backgrounds so i can't turn it off but i was wondering what causes the problem. I have searched some forums and there are some laughable comments and solutions on there. Is this caused by a file corruption? We have a reg fix that fixes the problem by resetting the DeskHtmlVersion key to 0 but i'm not sure what that does exactly. Anyone any idea what the true cause of the problem is? cheers Craig

By PowerUser: "Licentious. Obnoxious. Anti-democratic. In case you can't tell, I'm making a direct reference to Mr. Adam Albright. Before I launch into my main topic, I want to make a few matters crystal-clear: (1) Failure to recognize this salient point will result in Adam's getting free reign to enshrine irrational fears and fancies as truth, and (2) as a result of that, my observations are perhaps unique. Now that you know where I stand on those issues, I can safely say that wily cutthroats like Adam are not born -- they are excreted. However unsavory that metaphor may be, Adam acts as if he were King of the World. This hauteur is astonishing, staggering, and…

Albright, all that big talk you were going to do to people in kicking someone's a$$ out of that jacka$$ mouth of yours, it was all talk, right? You and I know that you're too old, old man, to really be doing anything with your brittle old a$$. You're way past your prime old man, and if you swung at someone and you missed the person -- no doubt you would do that -- miss, you would pull your arm out of your socket and break both your ankles in one motion. You would be out of commission for 10-12 months and you might not recover from it. I don't think you should be talking about you could kick someone's a$$ and get all excited at the keyboard in your adva…

Hi, I'm getting quite frustrated with my internet explorer shortcuts: I have a custom toolbar with shortcuts to frequently used sites, and I have changed the icons to make them clearer. However, for some of these icons, whenever I use the shortcut, the icon is immediately changed to the favicon for the site, which can often be unsightly or unclear at the larger toolbar size. I'm sure I found a way to stop them automatically updating, but am unable to remember or find how! I tried making them read only, and limiting system permissions, to no avail. Please help! Thanks

Hi all, (I've asked this in the Vista group too, but forgot to cross-post here, sorry) I'm trying to copy a user profile to a different location in Windows Server 2008 and I can't get the junction points to copy (access denied, obviously). I would have thought that the 'copy to' function in the profile list in System Properties would be aware of the need to copy the junction points - but alas it seems that it isn't, basically making the function fairly useless. Does anyone know how to correctly copy a user profile in Server 2008, creating the correct junction points in the destination? Cheers, -- Chris M. Remove pants to email me.
