Hello. Hope this is the right area to post...Trying to figure this out. I created an excel sheet where I could enter in data and wanted to make it part of my active desktop. If I save it as html etc and then set it -it comes up on the desktop and works fine. BUT I cant enter any data because I didnt check off the "add interactivity" option when saving. However, if I check this (whether I publish it or not) and then save as html and set to active desktop, it doesnt work. I can enter data now into the sheet, but it only comes up as a small maybe 4x4" square box that is white with only a small portion of my sheet in it and I cannot resize the main square c…

As previously mentioned in the IE8 Beta Feedback post back in March, we have several ways to submit feedback on the IE8 Beta. Currently the only way to directly file a bug with the IE Team is to be a part of the IE8 Technical Beta program on Microsoft Connect. Beta 2 is right around the corner and we are expanding our reach! If you wish to be a part of making IE better by contributing great bug reports then please email us at IESO@microsoft.com and tell us a little about yourself including why you’d be a great beta tester. We look forward to hearing from you, Allison Burnett Program Manager More...

One of the SysAdmins created a domain account (Win2k Server) user with the same name as the workstation name. Once someone logs into the domain using this account browsing network shares is no problem, however, after 30 minutes there's about a 5 minutes lag when trying to open up network shares? Can someone tell me why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

I have installed Win2k3 Standard sp2 with terminal server. I want to restrict some users to use only a certain application and not all the installed apps and server resources. I have achieved this by simple adding the program executable name and his path on Terminl server Configuration > Connections > Rdp-Tcp > Environment > "Start this program at logon" When I start the rdp session, the user can see only the specified app, whit no desktop icons, app bar, right mouse click works only on the started application, but I have discovered that if I use the application "Open" option, I can browse the server/network file system and even delete files…

My Documents has been moved from C: to D: drive. When I go to Start > My Documents I get "John's Documents", "Peter's Documents" and other files. Since I backed up drive C: from an external HDD now when I go to Start > My Computer I get all the drives plus "John's Documents" and "Peter's Documents", as I expect it to be. However, if I click on Peter's Documents I get the whole lot i.e. I get "John's Documents", "Peter's Documents" and other files. Is it possible that when I backed up my C: drive I duplicated the documents once more? I do not think it is a shortcut link.
