Using WinXP with all updates etc in place. Lately I've started getting the 0xc0000005 error again increasingly more frequently when I double-click on the Recycle Bin or do a right-click / Open. Right-click "Explore" and "Empty" cause no problems. Didn't KB938828 fix this? Has anyone else started seeing this behavior again? -- Bob http://www.kanyak.com

Hello, Can anyone tell me on how to retrieve the KeyPackages for the Bitlocker. I found two ways in microsoft website on how to get it, from active directory and the other one from the encrypted volume itself. The website is as below http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserve...3.mspx?mfr=true To retrieve the keypackage from active directory, there's a script provided but the script doesn't work due to some error in the code. The other way to retrieve the keypackge from the encrypted volume is not provided. Really appreciate if somebody can help me. Thanks.

Recently my copy of NOD32 has been crashing various instances of svchost.exe. In particular, it seems most fond of crashing the User Profile Service, the Group Policy Client Service, and the Background Intelligent Transfer Service. I have discovered through some savvy debugging that the cause is NOD32's IMON Internet Monitoring Module. I have reported the issue to both Eset (although, NOD32 v2.7 is deprecated so it's unlikely they will do anything) and Microsoft (It's also likely they won't do anything, they'll probably just blame Eset and tell you to ask them to fix it), and in the meantime I have come up with a temporary work-around for anyone else who m…

Subject: Re: Defrag no longer works! 7/24/2008 11:25 AM PST Thank you R. McCarty, everything is working as normal once again but without sp3. You were quite correct when you wrote: When you installed SP3 it migrated the MMC (Microsoft Management Console) to version 3.0. Once you removed SP3 the system doesn't roll back the MMC. The simplest solution is to update MMC for use with Service Pack 2. Information & Downloads here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907265 Simple solution to major poblem - thanks once again - Andrew
