Good afternoon all, The organization I work for is currently in process of starting a wider roll-out of Windows Vista to the entire company. I'm running into a question with power management options through group policy - I've got just about everything set, however I can't find anything on setting the Power Savings Mode for Searching and Indexing. Any kind of Internet search directs me to the policy options for search settings, none of which have anything to do with power management. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks! Joe

No, because sometimes mine works and sometimes it doesn't. I have a few video files, and the screen saver even plays the video files, which is cool, it just doesn't work consistently. Hello: I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 and I have tried this before with other versions of Vista with no success. What I'm trying to do is copy a user profile by copying everything under C:\Users\Bobby\ and overwriting everything in C:\Users\Tommy\. This procedure has worked fine in 2000 and XP if I copy the profile from C:\Documents and Settings\Bobby\ to C:\Documents and Settings\Tommy\. I saw a few Google results for this but all I've seen all posts about the problem itself, but no definite answers. This is the process that I follow: 1.) Create user Bobby and make all the customizations. 2.) Create user Tommy and logon to that accoun…

I have the following config: 2x 2008 server core machines, configured with Hyper-V, and as a failover cluster. All configured nicely and working well. I have installed an additional NIC in each machine and I wish to use these cards purely for iSCSI. How can I disable all the additional bindings (QoS, MS Client etc etc) on these cards via Server Core. I just want to leave ipv4 on these cards for iSCSI Secondly, is there any way I can force the iSCSI initiator to only use these additional cards ? Thanks Stu

Currently using Cisco Security Agent (CSA) as host based Intrusion Detection/Prevention software. Went to Vista 64, but found out CSA is not supported. Cisco claims there is no zero day protection software that runs on Vista 64 because Microsoft has not opened up enough API's on Vista 64 platform. So I have searched the internet, but no Intrusion software is listed that explicitely states that it supports Vista 64. (CSA does support Vista 32.) Does anyone know of any Intrusion Detection/Prevention software (with zero day protection) that explicitely states that it supports Vista 64? Thanks ...

Hi, Normally when getting rid of startup menu items I just remove them from MSConfig, through Start/Run, but when I execute the command it is returning nothing. It looks like I do not HAVE MsConfig on this PC. I do have a MSconfig file in the C:\i386 folder, but it appears to be called msconfig._ex so I am not sure whether this file is corrupt or what. It is a Dell Windows XP Home Edition. Any idea's? Tracey
