I am a newbie. I have downloaded dxwebsetup In the process of the install the error "please disable all programs. (I have done this thru Task Manager). All programs are shown as Not Running or deleted. When I continue the install THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE appears. Can anyone please give me a solution. Help! Have been digging deep into wife's computer and am stumped. She is running Windows XP on a Toshiba Satellite. She unfortunately got stuck with Vista Virus 2008 (i think that's what it was) It kept popping up windows and blocking all attempts to remove. I ran Spybot and Ad-Aware and finally SmitfraudFix. Nothing worked so I eventually used system restore to reset the computer to two weeks prior. Since then, however, I have not been able to connect to the internet. Hello all, I am performing a test using a UNC path to access a local drive. An old Microsoft KB article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328252) entitled "Performance Degradation When You Use UNC Path Instead of Drive Letter for a Local Computer" tells me that my problem (as noted in the title) was fixed with a Service Pack update to Windows 2000. My assumption would be that this problem is not supposed to occur in Windows 2003. Either that the Redirector service is no longer used when accessing a UNC directed to a local drive or possibly that the performance issue was cleared up. I found this answer to the problem of deleting undeletable folders (http://www.jrtwine.com/Products/DelFXPFiles/index.htm). This software is available in four versions, one of which is free. The free version does have the delete functionality enabled, so this should be able to meet your needs. Be aware, the download link is a little difficult to find on the Delete FXP Files website.
