Windows Explorer in Vista (as in previous versions) displays a seemingly RANDOM view selection. I would like the view to always come up in a DETAIL view with the columns width set as a fixed, standard width and the headings I want in the specific order I want. From that I could change it to what I wanted. I know you are supposedly able to set a fixed view, but after setting it as directed, I find the view still changes in ways that are hard to understand. Is there any way to fix the view in CONCRETE so a folder that is brought up ALWAYS has the view you defined?? There is nothing more aggravating than to display a list of files that are text files and ha…

3 or 4 couple of weeks ago, I dug around this horrid HP J6410 XP driver to set it for A4 - to solve a problem with paper size i.e. the defaults set in it were for American "Letter" sized paper, and invoicing software print-out was out of position. To correct that, I set A4 paper size in 3 places, (in the HP driver), in "Printing Preferences" and "Properties." Yesterday, after abandoning the idea of "transplanting" an aged XP Home platform onto significantly different and newer hardware, e.g. http://www.theeldergeek.com/replace_motherboard.htm I took the "preferred," but, more time consuming, route of a fresh XP install, adn reinstalling EVERYTHING :-(…

Hello support, We have a Windows Server 2003 x64 system that at seemingly random intevals (anywhere from 5 to 10 hours apart) reaches 100% CPU usage and locks up. The system is running in a virtual environment (Citrix XenServer) with another Windows Server 2003 guest that have no problem at the time of the incident. There are no logs in the virtual host to suggest a problem, aside from a restart taking place which must be manually initiated, the Windows Server does not restart on its own. The system was configured with 4x vCPUs and 2gb RAM. The host has 4 CPUs (Intel Xeon 3Ghz) and 4Gb RAM. The only entry in the Windows Event Log that suggests a …
