Hi everybody, I have a strange problem: I have a Server2008 WTS environment. Sometimes it happens that I get messages like this: {Lost Delayed-Write Data} The system was attempting to transfer file data from Buffers to \Device\LanmanRedirector. The write operation failed, and only some of the data may have been written to the file (in German) Message ID 50 Last Word C000020C (Yes, I have posted that message before and got no answer...) Now, I have performed some tests. They showed that some registry keys seem to disappear. Am I correct that every user on a WTS should have a set of keys under HKEY_USERS? When the error occurs, it seems …

Hi all, Yesterday, I reverse one virtual machine on VirtualPC 2005, runing Windows 2003 Server R2, to a server machine. I used a legal Acronis to do that. I corrected all problems, except one Event ID 4191, with the following message: "IP could not open the registry key for adapter TCPIP\Parameters\Adapters \NDISWANIP. Interfaces on this adapter will not be initialized." I want to correct this because I enter the TCP/IP definitions, on Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > (my connection) > Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties, and when I can back to the same window definitions the information I ent…

Hi everyone, I have some problems about using SubInAcl. 1. I use SubInAcl to modify DACL of registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\1. Before I begin to use SubInAcl, there has existed a ACE for user Everyone has full control permission. After I run the command line: subinacl /regkey HKEY_CURRENT_USER\1 /deny=everyone=c I found the behavior of SubInAcl is that delete the old ACL for user everyone and create a new ACE for everyone with Create SubKey pemission. Is it possible to let SubInAcl not to delete the old ACE. In addition, is it possible to specify inheritance flags and propagation flags for ACE by SubInAcl? Thanks. 2. I play SubIn…

Has anyone had trouble with 64 bit drivers for ASUS or other motherboards for Server 2008? We are suffering disk controller errors (which show up as such in the event log) and then system freezes. We are using Quad Core CPUs with 8GB+ RAM and so we've had to use ASUS boards when normally, they wouldn't have been our first choice. Usually too flaky. The drives are just regular 10,000 RPM Sata drives but it also happens to 7200 RPM Seagates. What successful motherboard/CPU configurations are other folks using in 64 bit scenarios? Thanks, Geoff Schaller Software Objectives

Hi! I’m Christian Stockwell, and I’m helping to improve Internet Explorer performance. In the past few months, each of the browser makers has made very similar claims around their performance: “Superior speed and performanceâ€, “The fastest and most powerful Web browser availableâ€, and “The fastest web browser on any platform.†In some fundamental way, I think the likeness of these statements is a by-product of the complexity inherent in performance measurement and analysis. Rather than join the chorus and trumpet IE as the fastest browser in the universe, this post is my attempt to demystify the performance work that is being delivered as part of IE8 so…

I disabled all the add-ons, reset the options and don't have Omnipage SE. I've also heard that Yahoo IM and Skype plugins can cause this - both un-installed. One person suggested that Office can cause this problem if it needs repairing. I did that - still have a copy of IE7 which generates the error every time I try to close it. Hi All, I am having trouble copying directories to my CD-R/W Drive for archival purposes. For example, if I right-click on a particular directory and select 'Send To' the CD-ROM Drive, the copy starts, but the time estimate for the process is many HOURS. The directory in question is 300MB in size. During the copy, which eventually finishes, the computer is essentially non-responsive. After the temporary files are created, the actual CD burn process is fairly quick. This is Windows XP-SP2. Any ideas why this process is Sooooooooooo Slow??? Thanks, John

These files were associated with Windows Shell Common Dll for the "Open With" command. I did what I did to cut one step out in regards to playing them, and now they wont play! I preformed this "Open With" change not more than 10 minutes ago... Please help. How can I re-associate these files with the "Windows Shell Common Dll"? I can't find it on my PC.
