Hi, I am having a very odd problem with FTP. Basically, it won't work. The FTP client seems to connect but then issues an error and no files appear on the remote server. The last time I needed to use FTP was in February of this year, and it worked fine. Now, when I try it, it goes nowhere. I have tried several different FTP clients and accounts, all with the same outcome. It is not a firewall problem I run only Win XP Pro firewall and have tried it with that disabled + anything else that even MIGHT effect connections. I have tried it in Safe Mode with no success which makes me think it is not a conflict with another app - though I don't believe I have …

Hello together, Does anybody know if I can I create a customized report in File Server Resource Manager W2k3 R2 with a list of the last access-date of all files in a diretory or share? We need this to deside whether or not this files are old and not used anymore by our users. Kind regards Michael

If I push "cancel" at the end of export ( certificate and private key ) process (last window), IE creates a pfx file but it's not true, if I import this file in another pc , IE imports this file into "Other people" not in "Personal". In Win XP with IE 7 , if i push "cancel" at the end , IE does not create any file. Thanks Dela

Hi all, I have encountered a strange behavior in my W2K3 server, I were prompted to reboot my server once login. I am sure I have chosen "Restart Later" in the dialog. Then I logoff the server, However, the server has been rebooted few seconds after. Is there any reason why? thanks huang

Hello. I was tracking down why my *svhost.exe* (used for internet & network Connections) was being used to access a whole bunch of Picture files in one of my folders. Files that were not being used by any other program or service at the time (not even the File Manager). It was running _under_LocalSystemNetworkRestricted_mode_ and i tracked the PID to the "'-Windows Audio Endpoint builder-' (http://tinyurl.com/6nbez6)" Service. I used the resource monitor to see that the WAEB was accessing numerous files in various folders. _What_stood_out_was_my_personal_pictures_it_was_accessing_. In the middle of the day the VPN from clients attaching to the SBS 2003 server stopped working. They are going through a cisco 1700 router and the IAS points to the Cisco with a shared password and then uses windows AD to authenticate. The event viewer shows the authentication has been approved (user name etc.) but the remote client has a timeout error saying error 718 when verifying user name and password no timely response by the server. The server is getting its DNS name resolution and email over a DSL line. When people RDP directly to the separate Terminal Server they have no issue. That is going over a cable line. Hi, I've 2 Windows 2008 Domain Controllers with intermittent event id 2012 ( While transmitting or receiving data, the server encountered a network error. Occassional errors are expected, but large amounts of these indicate a possible error in your network configuration. The error status code is contained within the returned data (formatted as Words) and may point you towards the problem. ) Both DC are already installed to the latest Windows Updates, unable to find any clues to this issue for Windows 2008.
