Hello: I currently have the Technet eval of Windows Server 2008 Enterprise installed and Hyper-V is configured. I just purchased a license for Standard Edition to use on this hardware going-forward. Is it possible to do an in-place downgrade from Enterprise to Standard? If so, how could I accomplish this task without losing my Hyper-V configuration? Thanks!

vista home premium OS My Epson C88+ doesn't want to work correctly. I can install it, but it won't print. It's a USB connection Sometimes it prints a page but misses most of the text. Sometimes it justs burps a line feed or two and then sits. Can't seem to find the right driver or way to configure. It worked perfectly on my XP OS I have two computers connected in a lan via a router, the printer was marked to share.

I found this board looking for a solution to the same problem. Just fixed it by ensuring that user rights assignment 'Restore Files and Directories" contained "Administrators, Backup Operators"

I had some issues setting up my Trendnet TE100-P21 three port print server with my home network on vista PC's. This is how it is done: Control Panel Printers Add Printer Local Printer Create a new port Standard TCP/IP Port Under hostname/IP address of the printer, enter the IP address of the printer server (192.168.xx.xx) that you entered when you set the print server up on your network. This will be reflected in the line below (Port Name). Click next. After a few seconds you will see a dialog box for additional port information. Select custom and click settings Now you need to know the port name used by your server. Mine was PS-71936B-U1 (firs…

Twanny, http://biosagentplus.com/?PHPSESSID=pl3d2de210ir8mav7k8tr8e2s2 This place wants to sell you the whole chip (hard to repalce if soldered in for those that are not technicians) At any rate I got the binary from them with s/w that also installs and backups your old file. I had already used my own method to backup the file which I am glad I did. http://www.esupport.com I did the boot from floppy flash and my PC would no longer go into post. I had to unsolder my eprom, installed a socket, use the UV eprom eraser at my job and I manually put my old file back on in the prgrammer at work. http://www.esupport.com never did make the situation right. I've tried to set up file synchronizing between my desktop (XP pro) and my laptop (MCE) on a home wireless network. As far as I can see I've done it correctly and when I log on and log off and both computers are on it shows the sync window and says it was successful but when I check the folders on each computer new files haven't been added and existing ones are not updated. The same happens if I do a manual sync from either computer. What am I doing wrong?

Hi all, Yesterday I posted a question regarding a problem I have. I have an app that I am attempting to run as a service using srvany on a Win2003 PC with SP1. The service seems to start, but the app is no where to be seen. Through help from another group I also tried it with nssm with the same results. I now suspect that the app is not running as a service due to some security policy. Where can I look at this to find out for sure? Is there any documentation that I can read to delve deeper into this subject? Thanks! Saga --

Hi I have spent quite a bit of effort trying to get a handle on IIS log entries that contained this user agent signature EZI_HTTP_NETDEV_DISCOVER. They failed, since the server does not allow anon access, and generated security log entries of event = 529, with null user, and roving IP dresses. It looks like a nasty, but it's not, I'm posting here so as to save future searchers the hassle, hopefully google will pick it up soon.
