I recently went into Change Date & Time Internet time tab and chose a time standard to connect with. After doing that I went onto the internet and connected with time.nist.gov and checked the time. After that I was no longer able to go into the internet time tab. It tells me that time.nist.gov is the time connection and I can't change it. It tells me I need to have permission to do this as administrator. I am the administrator! What goes here? Can anyone help? -- RHMinetti

I recently needed to reinstall my operating system. It was before and is now Windows XP. I have created folder shortcuts so that when I save I can "jump" to a folder deeper within my directory structure that I use often. I had several of these shortcuts and they worked splendidly. Now that I have reinstalled Windows XP, I can jump to the desired directories using the shortcuts while exploring, but when I try to do so while saving the folder shortcuts do not appear. How can I use folder shortcuts to "jump" to specific folders within my directory structure while saving? Thanks. Dan

I've got a new wide-screen monitor and video card, All in Wonder Radeon running with Vista Ultimate. I've gone to Personalize, Desktop Background repeatedly and clicked either the button on Fit to Screen or Fit to Screen with Crop. That selection will stick until the grahic is changed when it reverts to a partial screen. Occasionally it will revert to Tile. I'm using images that are 9x16 aspect from Webshots. Is there some way I can lock the desktop image in whatever aspect I've selected? Thanks for any assistance you might offer, TerryS

I got an old PC from my wife's business, but the sound did not work. It just ticked about once per second. She said the sound worked fine when she had it. Then I recalled the only thing that I changed was the modem. I removed this modem (a Lucent winmodem) and hear music again. Now I had tried dxdiag before and answered 'no' to the questions did you hear a sound? out of curiosity I ran dxdiag again. Now it won't start up. I get a message DxDiag has detected that there may have been a problem accessing DirectSound the last time this program was used. And the PC seizes up: hard disk light goes out, mouse will not move, even ctrl-alt-del has no effect. It …
