I am using Window's Vista and am trying to use speech recognition. I have an audio file of an interview (only one person talking, and quite clearly) but I want to use Speech Recognition to turn it into a Word or Wordpad document. Does anyone know the right way to do this? When I speak into the microphone, it picks up all of my words clearly, but when I play the audio file into the microphone, the computer doesn't recognize a single word, even though I have it loud and clear. It starts putting down bizarre words (like ones about baseball). I have been playing the audio file on my laptop's speakers and trying to play it into my desktop computer's micropho…

How do i reduce the size of my search directory (s)? When I deleted an entry under the outlook sub, the email in question was deleted as well. I would like to clear out about 90% of the stuff that is in there but fear that the files will be gone as well. I use software that removes tracks of browsing etc. but does not deal with the search directory. I feel that this is a real security threat because if this file were to be accessed by someone with less than good intentions.... Thanks in advance

Hi, Is there anyone that can help me with the following? I want to specify the desktop background picture location to a specific folder so that the user can select one of the images I've put there as their desktop background. I don't want them to be able to browse using the browse button and I only want my specified folder in the drop down (if the drop down can't be disabled completely). I don't want them to be able to select any other images as background with the "Set as background" option as well. Is this possible? I know I can specify one image as background using a GPO, but that will disable the option of changing the background all toghether and …

I noticed that I have a large number of files with corrupted names on one of our servers. Most of them have dots underneath some letters in file names. If the dot is below the last letter I can just put the prompt at the end of the file name and hit backspace once which removes the dot but not the last letter fixing the file name in this way. Any idea what might have caused that problem? We have a mixed Windows MacOS environment so I also wandering whether that's not the source of the problem. Thanks for any help. yAro
