Hello, I've gotten an error code doing a backup of Windows Server 2008. I've spent about 30 minutes trying every imaginable search of Microsoft's site, but can't find an explanation. Any one know where I should look? The full message is: "Backup started at {long string of numbers} failed as Volume Shadow Copy. Operation failed for backup volume with the following error code: 2155348001". I do backups daily, but only get this message occassionally. Thanks

I've run into this problem on several (but not all) windows 2003 server: When I try to create a home folder for a new user, I'm told that I (as domain administrator) don't have create access to the server, and that the folder will not be created. If I manually create it, I've had issues where the user will only have read access to their files, even when they are the owner and permissions are reset. None of this occurs with any consistency. I can't find anything at Microsoft about this. Please help. -- %20--The Final Frontier

Not sure whether the problem began with XP SP3 or as a result of optimizing my hard drive with Norton System Works 2008. Noted after installing Acrobat Pro 9 that it will not pdf any documents as the system would not setup the necessary printers. Tried adding a printer manually and get the Operation Cannot Complete message. The fix to this is to ensure that Print Spooler is running in Services which it is. It both comes on automatically at boot and stays started. I have also attempted to manually shut it down and then start it but to no avail. If it's not the spooler, any suggestions of what it could be. I'd like to avoid reinstall my entire machi…

Okay, this is a strange one. Using Windows 2003 Standard SP2, I'm forcing the default wallpaper displayed at logon using the following registry key. [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop] "Wallpaper"="%systemroot%\\wallpaper.jpg" The wallpaper shows up as expected. However, if you grab the logon dialog box with the mouse and move it around the screen, it erases the graphics in the jpg! I tried the same thing using a bmp and didn't have that problem. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks. Steve
